Lady Catherine states,"Darcy seemed to feel it most acutely, more I think than last year. His attachment to Rosings certainly increases." I think that Darcy was heart broken over Elizabeth, and I think its funny that Lady Catherine is completely oblivious to the whole situation. What do you think she would do/say if she knew of Darcy's proposal?

She'd throw a conniption! Didn't you see how she was later in the book, when she thought that Lizzie might EXPECT Darcy to propose? All lectures, all the time.
Probably faint then she'd go after Darcy and he'd have to deal with her fury. Poor man.
I agree, fainting & then POW, I think she would go after Elizabeth first then Darcy.

She'd probably go after whichever of the two was nearest then the other. If they're all in the same room she'll kill two birds with one stone.

She would have blinked, cleared her throat, shifted in her "throne" and then upbraided whoever had delivered the information. Think Maggie Smith in Downton Abbey.
She would have had a heart attack! Then if she survived she'd kill Liz. Remember she wanted Darcy for her daughter. She couldn't kill him. She'd try to reason with him.

Well, remember how angry she was when she called on Elizabeth, and that was just on a rumour that Darcy HAD proposed.
If she had known for sure, she probably would have taken the same course of action: scolding Elizabeth and guilting Darcy (unsuccessfully, of course. He wanted Lizzy and no one but). :)
