Oh never mind me. The feeds are coming through really slowly this morning. I was referring to the eggs. The little balls with what looks like potato and melted cheese looks good too.

*eating my sandwich now, even though it's only 10:45am::

Hello Cynthia.

Cynthia Paschen | 7333 comments How the hell are you, sweetie?

I'm good.

I've been drinking wine, YES I have.

I love you too Cynthia!

I totally heart Cyn!

Phil | 11852 comments Would you "ball eaters" eat bull balls?

message 61: by [deleted user] (new)

I almost answered "no", but I am not a "ball eater"...

message 62: by Lobstergirl, el principe (new)

Lobstergirl | 24816 comments Mod
No, not knowingly. And the photo reminds me of several fashions in the fashion thread.

message 63: by [deleted user] (new)

Oh dear, the pic just came through...that is awful! I would go veggie again before I touched that.

message 64: by [deleted user] (new)

Seriously, Phil, thanks for that visual right before bed. If I have bad dreams of being chased by veiny bull balls you're getting a package of poo in the mail!

message 65: by evie (new)

evie (ecie) | 4446 comments No to the bull balls!

Phil | 11852 comments ::resolves to sniff delivered packages before opening::

message 67: by [deleted user] (new)

Why not? They might taste delicious. They just look a little on the gross side before they are cooked. Sliced up, fried...

message 68: by Lobstergirl, el principe (new)

Lobstergirl | 24816 comments Mod
They're probably in our fast food hamburgers already.

message 69: by Phil (new)

Phil | 11852 comments Bull-ball burgers. Hmmm.

message 70: by evie (new)

evie (ecie) | 4446 comments Bull balls in a tomato and onion gravy.

message 71: by Lobstergirl, el principe (new)

Lobstergirl | 24816 comments Mod
I'm sure Bourdain has eaten them.

message 72: by [deleted user] (new)

Well that cures me of any burger cravings for a while...

message 73: by Phil (new)

Phil | 11852 comments Mmmm, bull balls.

message 74: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 13814 comments I'll submit deep fried butter for the worst junk food list.

message 75: by Susan (new)

Susan | 6406 comments Thank you, Heidi, for getting us off that last page! ICK.

message 76: by [deleted user] (new)

I assume you are kidding about the deep fried butter Pi.

message 77: by Phil (new)

Phil | 11852 comments Gail, deep fried butter on a stick was actually offered at the Iowa State Fair last year. This was AN ENTIRE STICK OF BUTTER!

Paula Deen has butter balls, but nothing as sick as this.

message 78: by Susan (new)

Susan | 6406 comments All the deep fried butter you want can be found in my neck o' the woods, too.

message 79: by [deleted user] (new)

I think we have a winner here! The thought of deep fried butter makes me feel really ill.

And that's before you've eaten it.

Yes I am an Iowan. No, I did not try the butter on a stick. Are you quite mad? But I do enjoy a little butter in pasta.

evie (ecie) | 4446 comments Hello heart attack!

message 83: by Riona (new)

Riona (rionafaith) | 488 comments I don't know, deep fried butter still grosses me out. And I eat heart-clogging, terrible-for-you stuff all the time. Well not all the time, but I'm far from a health nut is all I'm saying.

message 84: by Cynthia (new)

Cynthia Paschen | 7333 comments Trust me, a heart attack is around every corner at the Iowa State Fair. I'm shocked every year at the number of hefty Iowans who show up in mullets and tank tops and eat themselves silly. And THEN go to the Grandstand and drink beer and listen to 1980s Hair Bands.

It's all quite fun.

Oh yeah, me too. But when I think about the recipes we make that call for a stick of butter, it's a pretty long list.

I'm not judging the taste at all. Just the concept.

message 87: by Riona (new)

Riona (rionafaith) | 488 comments Cool, I feel better about that batch of extra-rich creamed spinach I made for lunch now.

I would still feel gross just taking a bite of a stick of butter, though. Especially if that stick of butter was deep-fried.

message 88: by Cynthia (new)

Cynthia Paschen | 7333 comments Mmmmm. Creamed spinach is lovely.

May be the problem is in the name. The picture makes it look like a donut! I love donuts. I also love butter and never replace it with substitutes. The thought of eating a stick of butter, gross!

message 94: by evie (new)

evie (ecie) | 4446 comments I've never had creamed spinach. It is spinach, and what else?

I'll eat tots but we don't deep fry them. Chips sometimes, if they are home made, which only happens every couple of years.

Fish and chips from the "Fish and chip" shop, fried and battered is one of my weakness'.

message 96: by [deleted user] (new)

I'd eat a stick o deep fried butter in a second over bull balls!

I eat Brummell & Browns. It's made from yogurt, not so much with the cholesterol.

I use real butter but not very often. 95% of the time I use olive oil.

message 98: by [deleted user] (new)

Olive oil doesn't cut it on my PB sarnies.

message 99: by Lobstergirl, el principe (new)

Sarnies?

Susan | 6406 comments Youndyc wrote: "Or am I misunderstanding and what you really meant was that you like those two items served together?"

Sorry. I like both items. Separate or together. I do make a stuffed sweet potato with spinach, cheese and some black beans all together. That is yum.

I like olive oil for cooking. I use Earth Balance for a spread.
