I have to admit that although Eric thrills me, part of me hopes that things will get straightened out with Bill, and she'll end up back with him...I'm not really into Quinn at all. Does anyone think that Sookie will stay with him? (Or even like him, for that matter?)
Maybe I just dislike him because he's getting in the way of her getting back together with Bill :)

Quinn is hot stuff, I'm curious to see how the next book furthers or maybe ends their relationship.
I think another reason that I have a soft spot for Bill is that he was with Sookie in the first book, and I liked the first book so much - that's where it all started, you know? I also think he never really got a chance to explain himself fully to Sookie - she was too hurt to hear him out. So I'm hoping in the next book that they at least talk it out (and we get to hear Bill's explanation, too!) even if they end up just being friends. I just can't see Sookie ending up with a shapeshifter (Quinn) in the end. To me, it seems to run counter to the essence of the books...

Nice to see I'm not the only one who likes Bill. Of course Eric was the best when he lost his memory...what a sweetheart! But it is a shame Eric can only be a nice guy when he has memory-loss, you know? So my vote is for Bill. I never liked Quinn. I just never felt any chemistry between them. I guess I've always thought of Sookie as a vamp-loving girl (grin).
I love Quinn! I think he REALLY likes Sookie and he is one of my favorite characters! I hope Sookie stays with him.
I say definitely Eric. I'm still pissed at Bill on Sookie's behalf. He's not the vamp I thought he was so I'm hopeful she won't bounce back to him. I'm surprised anyone still likes him and wants her back with him. I agree with the comments about Quinn. Something is missing there between them.
I know it won't happen, but I really like Sam! He is such a great character, plus he and Sookie really have chemistry.Otherwise, my vote is for Eric, all the way.
OK I like Sam too. And i know he would be great for Sookie. But I don't think Sookie will ever see Sam that way! And his character has really developed into a fun one!
I personally do not want Sookie to get back together with Bill. She didn't really hear him out but why should she after what he did? I know Bill was her first everything but he was sort of boring to me. Eric...I love Eric. He's hot. I've loved Eric since he was first introduced. I want Sookie with him. If I have to pick someone else, I'd got with Sam. He's normal enough and they like each other. She'd just have to quit working at Merlottes to make it work!
I'm not sure why everyone says Eric was nicer when he was not himself. I didn't like how vulnerable he became. Eric, to me, is tough and he's a take charge kind of guy and that's what's so sexy about him. He was a wimp when he lost his memory. And we really don't know how Eric would be with Sookie as himself because she won't give him the chance. He's feeling something towards her that he just does not understand and I bet if he got the chance, he would sweep her off her feet.I do agree about Quinn. He sounds hot and all but I don't feel it between him. I got pissed when he busted in on Sookie and Eric exchanging blood. LOL
I'm an Eric fan all the way. Bill was just too melancholic, just as Nicole said. He may have been Sookie's first love but that doesn't mean he is the right man for her, he is too secretive for a start, and Sookie seems to get herself into more trouble when with him than without.I'd love to see her give the real Eric a chance.
Dannii, I love Eric with Sookie. He's getting closer to her than Bill ever could. I thought Bill was sort of boring to be honest. Eric is anything but boring, plus he's hot. He used to be a Viking in life, for crapsake!
Yeah, a viking is hot!!!! And i'm so glad i'm not the only person who thinks Eric is good for Sookie. I can't wait to read "Altogther Dead" and see her get even closer to Eric, it comes out on paperback in the UK next month yay!
I would love to see Eric and Sookie together. They were hot in the book with his memory-loss. Imagine that in every book! Hot!Sam would be cool, too, but I doubt that'll ever happen.

Even if Claude was Bi, Sookie hates his personality. He is flat and fake. I like Sam for her but I think like others say that she may never see him like that.
Eric is a definite connection but now that she has been with a warmblooded male will she be able to go back to a cold body.

I am mad as can be at Bill. He does not deserve Sookie.
Maybe she can end up with an unknown man. Maybe she can start dating normal people. But of course they could never hold up against the Supes.
I am only on book 4 and I appologize I only skimmed some of these as I didn't want anything to be spoiled....I would love to see Sookie with Alcide....MHO...

Yeah, he was creepy, and for some reason I kept imagining him as Chuck Norris... That's what famous names will get you!
Calvin Norris also gave me the creeps. It must be how she wrote the character. He sounded like a dirty old man or something trying to marry a young girl.
Haha - Chuck Norris as a huge panther... interesting. I sort of pictured Calvin as a flannel-wearing Bob Vila look-alike - very beard-y. Frankly, the Hotshot community is a tad freaky.I was also never really into Quinn. He's just sort of 'meh'. I could never really get excited about him.
I think Eric's evolution throughout the entire series has made him even more endearing to me. I'm hoping that something further develops between him and Sookie, because he seems to have developed a real attachment to her.. and he's a Viking, that's pretty awesome! It was sort of neat to see a vulnerable Eric (when he was cursed) but it was also just so un-Eric that I'm glad it was a temporary thing too.
Since Bill's been on the peripheral, he's really lost his appeal for me. And seriously, he's still dating what's-her-face, so he can just go jump in the lake. Nuts to that guy!
I like Alcide - the whole werewolf dynamic that CH has created is really cool, but he just up and fell off the face of the earth!

Colleen, Alcide is pissed at Sookie because of what happened in the Pack Master Duel or whatever you want to call it. I don't know HOW he can blame her but oh well. The less men she has trying to get her, the greater the chances that Eric and her will hook up. Quinn seems hot but no, it's all about Eric. Bill can keep dating whatsherface for all I care!
Yeah it seems so backwards that he would be mad with her, she only did what she was asked to do! And she wasn't too excited about helping out with pack-business anyway. I wonder if we'll see Alcide again any time soon?
I think we'll see Alcide again alright. He'll get over it. I just think he's distraught about his father and he's taking it out on her cuz he can.
I am about two thirds through Definitley Dead and I am finally understanding what you have been talking about. Bill can most def go pound sand. He bugged me from the get go and now I know why. Alcide is whining and it is so not Sooks fault. Eric is a big no no for me. He is to demanding and controling and just feels that he can order Sook around at his whatever will. I don't care how hot he may be. Quinn seems alright so far, but I don't trust him yet. I am still mad at Sookie for not jumping at the chance to stay with Alcide. :(

Hi, I posted on the Dead to Worse spoilers post, I'm glad to see that Bill annoys other people too. I have to agree that I am a huge fan of Eric and Sookie... but I liked Quinn, I really did.So I guess my first choice is Eric

I defintely agree that Eric is the man for Sookie, when he lost his memory and wanted to give everything up to be with her. i was wishing he'd never get his memeory back
I like Eric just the way he is too. No guessing. What you see is what you get. Bill was great in the beginning, but now that things have changed, there doesn't seem a logical way to go back. I can't wait until you all finish the new book!
If you like Eric you have to read the short story in Many Bloody Returns! It is a good story about Eric.
OK, I'm new on this group, but I've been reading Sookie for a while.FWIW, I think still waters run deep in Sam although CH hasn't explored his character much and that he will grow into someone Sookie COULD love. Bill was her first love, but Sam has always been there for her, even before she became involved in the supe community.
But ... that said, Sam is too small-town for her after all of her adventures. So I think sexy Eric the Viking ought to regain his memory and find some way to reconcile his feelings toward Sookie then and now. That way she'll get the sexy, sophisticated yet caring person that she deserves. Don't we all! :)
I just finished FDTW last night and I'm still rooting for her and Eric to get together. They have that blood bond thing going on and she did admit she liked him. I could see Sookie with Sam. He's more human than most and I don't think Sookie can be considered more than small town herself so I could see them being together. If not Eric, I can accept Sam.
You know what sort of bothers me about Sam though? He got really friendly with that crazy banshee-thing in the forest... For the life of me I cannot remember what she was, a myanad? Myinad? Anyway, he was doing in the woods with that thing, even after it used Sookie as a post-it note. That took him off my list, even though he is so sweet.
Menad or something to that effect. I mean he was horny! Nobody else was giving it up to him! That's the only thing I think that turned Sookie off from him. The thing attacked her and he goes traipsing in the forest with it. I did like the end when Eric and Bill were deliberately not looking at her cuz they knew she was about to do her tribute thing. That whole scene cracked me up.
I'm all about Eric. If he were real, I would so jump his bones and then I would ram my throat into his fangs so I could be a vampire...Even Quinn. I think I would jump his bones too, but I'd have to kick him in the nads if he kept calling me "babe".

I have only read book one. I don't like triangles at all, but I was looking forward to one with Bill Sookie and Sam. I didn't know Eric's role was going to grow so much. I am about to read the second book tonight. I didn't like Eric in book one. Usually my first opinion is hard to change. I hope I can get swayed to his side. I saw Bill as a little boring, but not terrible. Sam was always the guy for me.
Marice, I would suggest if you didn't like Eric in book 1, then you definietly need to keep reading the series. Dead to the World is my favorite book out of the series for Eric.

I absolutely love Eric, however, I'm not sure if Harris is going to go with a vampire for Sookie. I mean, Sookie wants children!My first choice when I first started the series was Sam so he's my fall back guy. He loves her, understands her and the world that she lives in and he would do anything to protect her. Not to mention they know each other but not well enough that they won't have fun exploring...:)

Cj, I agree about Sam because he's my fall back guy as well. She can have kids with him and they always say, friends first is the way to go! There's always been that attraction but since Sookie was all up in Bill's face, Sam just didn't get a chance yet.She might even write in a nice, normal guy for her. LOL. Or not, since she's not quite normal herself.

I can get through the books with Eric. I have read other series where I didn't like a major character, but I still found the book enjoyable. My number one pick is still Sam.
