Christian romance fiction can be really fun to read. But other times, really repetitious. You feel like you have read the story before... but written by a different author. My fave romances to read are historical Christian fiction, because then there is more going on than just 'falling in love' and all those silly misunderstandings that almost tear couples apart before they finally solve them at the end. Those are sooo annoying.

Julie Klassen's books are pretty good. Most of them are set in the regency time period.
Lady of Milkweed Manor by Julie Klassen The Apothecary's Daughter by Julie Klassen The Maid of Fairbourne Hall by Julie Klassen The Silent Governess by Julie Klassen The Girl in the Gatehouse by Julie Klassen

Rose (seekeroftruth) | 2966 comments Ice by Sarah Beth Durst Another version of East. The love story was cute, but it got a bit weird.

message 29: by [deleted user] (new)

How are you liking it so far, Caro?

I found there were some slow spots in there, but I really liked it overall.

message 31: by Leon (new)

its getting harder to find good romances they either make me roll my eyes or gag. sometimes both

Jennifer wrote: "Pretty much anything from Francine Rivers! Love, love, love Redeeming Love and the whole Mark of the Lion series!!!"

I like the Mark of the Lion series. :) Redeeming Love, not so much. But I guess it's because there wasn't really anything in there that I could relate to.

Leon wrote: "romances are too cliche now seriously. love triangles and dramatic falling in love. it's so dumb."

I really do hate love triangles. And I like the romance to happen slowly, gradually - it makes it so much sweeter, IMO. Suddenly being in love, after their first or second meeting - with Caro: roll eyes and gag.

message 36: by Carolyn, The God of Angel Armies (new)

Carolyn (caroheartsbooks) | 9968 comments Mod
haha!! yay we r in agreement. OR puppy love where the only reason they like each other is bc they r "pretty" or "cute" MAJOR ROLLING EYES

message 37: by [deleted user] (new)

message 39: by Leon (new)

Leon | 2091 comments thats called bella in twilight but she really did fall for him. proof: she was "numb" for four months when he left her

message 40: by Carolyn, The God of Angel Armies (new)

Carolyn (caroheartsbooks) | 9968 comments Mod
*sigh*

message 41: by [deleted user] (new)

lol I read all the twilight books, in grade 7/8. Wish I didn't. But it was the 'rage' during that time. EVERYBODY was reading it, so I was like, I need to see what the fuss is all about! I guess I did like it... but it wasn't worth it.

message 42: by Rose (new)

Rose (seekeroftruth) | 2966 comments Ugh.... I watched some of the movies (so I could laugh at them) and heard the entire synopsis and its a pathetic piece of literature containing no value at all.

message 43: by [deleted user] (new)

If it came out now... I def wouldn't read it. You're right, it's not a valuable piece of literature!
I started watching 'Twilight'... it was terrible. Ended up turning it off, and watching Hannah Montana instead... which is saying A LOT.

message 44: by Carolyn, The God of Angel Armies (new)

Carolyn (caroheartsbooks) | 9968 comments Mod
VAL AND I USED TO ARGUE ABOUT TWILIGHT ALL THE TIME!!!!! I WAS NEGATIVE SHE WAS POSITIVE

message 45: by [deleted user] (new)

My parents are strongly against those kinds of books. So I wasn't even allowed to read them, but I did anyway. Rebel right here, lol. ;P

haha really?? mom said NO i didnt...lol

message 47: by [deleted user] (new)

Well they did say NO Harry P, and I've never read HP, and I'm not planning on it either. :)

message 48: by Carolyn, The God of Angel Armies (new)

Carolyn (caroheartsbooks) | 9968 comments Mod
thats good my mom said okay but i thought NO!

message 49: by Rose (new)

Rose (seekeroftruth) | 2966 comments Sorry to bring this up again, but its so sad how HP is so misunderstood. People hear all this crap about it and... no one realizes how much those books have helped people, including me. They're not what people say....I'm sorry I just had to say something.

message 50: by [deleted user] (new)

That's fine. We have our own tastes and preferences and views on things. I just don't want to read any book pertaining to witch craft. I still feel guilty for reading vampire books.
