I read some really fantastic books this year. My top 5:

1. Midnight Tides (Malazan Book of the Fallen, #5) by Steven Erikson
2. What-the-Dickens The Story of a Rogue Tooth Fairy by Gregory Maguire
3. The Help by Kathryn Stockett
4. The Free Lunch by Spider Robinson
5. Morningstar (Morningstar, #1) by Darcy Town

Well okay they aren't my top 5 but just some of the books I read and loved. Chime in to tell us about your favorites!

Michael Cargill Cargill (michaelcargill) | 92 comments I think I've probably only read about five books all year. Some of you lot are insatiable.

For me, of the ones that I can remember reading this year:

Auschwitz: A Doctor's Eyewitness Account
The Diary of a Young Girl (Anne Frank)
11/22/63
To War With Wellington: From The Peninsula To Waterloo
Halo: The Thursday War

My favorites this year that come to mind were
Days of Blood & Starlight (Daughter of Smoke and Bone, #2) by Laini Taylor Chasing Magic (Downside Ghosts, #5) by Stacia Kane Fury's Kiss (Dorina Basarab, #3) by Karen Chance A Discovery of Witches (All Souls Trilogy, #1) by Deborah Harkness
The fifth is a toss up between a couple of others. I'll go with Shadow and Bone (The Grisha, #1) by Leigh Bardugo simply because of the reaction the book got out of me.

Good, trying to motivate myself to get up and do something

Have you ever read The Riddler's Gift (First Tale of the Lifesong) by Greg Hamerton ? I just found it free on amazon. It looks good. I need to have bookbub taken away from me. I have more books than I'll ever be able to read.

Alana ~ The Book Pimp (loonyalana) | 316 comments I couldn't pick just 5... but I narrowed it down to 10. There are many I loved that didn't make this list, too.

Trapped (The Iron Druid Chronicles, #5) by Kevin Hearne Slammed (Slammed, #1) by Colleen Hoover Easy by Tammara Webber Obsidian (Lux, #1) by Jennifer L. Armentrout Morningstar (Morningstar, #1) by Darcy Town Joe by H.D. Gordon Something Witchy This Way Comes by Veronica Blade Sweet Blood of Mine (Overworld Chronicles #1) by John Corwin Beg for Mercy (Cambion, #1) by Shannon Dermott Beautiful Disaster (Beautiful, #1) by Jamie McGuire
