Jalyn (jalynnie) Week 12: December 24th-30th is 150 pages or less

Hey guys! I don't know about the rest of you, but I've got a lot of stuff going on next week because of the holidays. I thought that since there are probably a lot of other people out there that are pretty busy too that reading a book with 150 pages or less would be ideal. There is no lower limit. If the book only has 8 pages then that's alright by me. If you're participating then just post your book with the number of pages please! Thanks!! Have fun and Happy Holidays :D

I just found it yesterday when I was at my library. It stood in the christmas section they had put up. As it was the only zombie book it stood out. :) I will let you know what I thought of it. :)

I love zombie books too! Have you read Hollowland (The Hollows, #1) by Amanda Hocking and Hollowmen (The Hollows, #2) by Amanda Hocking ? I really liked them. The first one is free on Amazon right now and the second is only $2.99 :)

Gisbelle | 27299 comments Great timing also. We are going to be a bit busy next week, so short books are going to be the ones most of us choose to read :)

message 24: by Gisbelle (new)

Gisbelle | 27299 comments I have finished 2 more books less than 150

message 25: by Mehsi (new)

Mehsi | 26632 comments Well I tried the scrooge/zombie book. But I got half way and it turned annoying (the future spirit is talking like a rapper and made it hard to read).
So I guess I will withdraw from this weeks challenge. I don't really have any other small books to read on the moment.

Mehsi | 26632 comments Trisha wrote: "oh no! :( that's disappointing....sorry it wasn't your cup of tea! "

Yeah I am really disappointed too. The first half was really great, it was a good zombie story. Lots of gore but also filled with comedy and british word puns and more. And the present spirit was silly and fun. I am really sad they picked a rapperlike spirit (whose talks are almost unreadable. Even my boyfriend, when I showed him was like, wait what? How do you read that.)

Gisbelle | 27299 comments haha :) Great that it was free, right? Book 2 was better :)

message 33: by Trisha, lives on coffee (new)

Trisha | 31442 comments Yes, free is always a good way to give a book a chance! I'm glad I tried. :)

Jacquelyn (jacquelynreads) | 19024 comments I finished Madly (Madly, #1) by M. Leighton today and like Trisha, I gave it one star. I didn't like this book at all! Half the time I didn't even know what was going on and I was bored the entire time! Oh well! At least it was short and free! Nothing better than that!

I liked the book. I agree that the some scenes were a bit off, so I can see why you were bored. Book 2 is much better, though. More action and romance. I am going to read book 3 soon.

message 38: by Jacquelyn, thebrunettebooknerd (new)

Jacquelyn (jacquelynreads) | 19024 comments Well everybody likes different things! :D I am not going to continue with the series.

message 39: by Angela (new)

message 40: by Jacquelyn, thebrunettebooknerd (new)

Jacquelyn (jacquelynreads) | 19024 comments Yeah, for me it felt like it was 500 pages long though! LOL! I just wanted it to end! I try to never give up on books in case it gets better by the end but for me this never got better. When were you thinking of reading it? Once you do make sure you let me know how you liked it!

message 41: by Trisha, lives on coffee (new)

I might read it tomorrow. I'll tell you what I think of it when I'm done!

@Trisha - I hope I do! Otherwise it's going to take a long time to finish. Even if it is only 53 pages.

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 32355 comments Great theme, Jalyn! I just read The First Lie A Lying Game Novella by Sara Shepard , but I am a little confused. I just know someone on here can explain to me. I thought this was the prequel to the series because it is so short, but it was just published in 2012. Is it a prequel to anything? Does book 1 of the series follow the story line because it ended abruptly.
