Rosemary While my mother was in the hospital, she thoroughly enjoyed visits from the therapy dogs. Now she is convalescing at my house, and my little dog has taken on his home therapy dog role with great enthusiasm. He escorts her from room to room, helps with physical therapy (playing tug-o-war with squeeky toys to strengthen her arms), and gives lots of kisses. When she was a gone from the house for while, he sat on the ottoman by the chair where she likes to read, waiting eagerly for her return. Dogs honor us with such devotion.

Kayla I watch the "Canine cops (K9Cops)" on Animal Planet. I think it would be really cool to train my dog to sniff out stuff. :-)

Michelle Cox (nathansangel) | 2 comments Random links are weird.

But back to therapy dogs, I would love to train one of mine to do something like that, I know my poodle would be scared but I think that my schnauzer probably could though. He's gentle but he's also high strung. IDK

Genie Bishop | 6 comments My oldest golden, Wilson, is a therapy dog. He has visited the library and had children read to him. He just loved this. The kids would sit beside him and he would put his paw on their leg and just listen away. The most difficult part of getting his certification was finding a place close to home to have him tested. We had to drive a hour and a half for the test.
