My favorite Stephenie Meyer book! Movie coming out next year!!

Alana ~ The Book Pimp (loonyalana) | 295 comments I adore this book as well. It's one of the ones I have in hardcover, and I don't have that many hardcovers

message 3: by [deleted user] (new)

I love this one too. They need to put out a longer trailer so we can get more of an idea about the movie.

*Suzy (ereaderuser)* (suzyereaderuser) Definately her best book! I'm looking forward to the movie.

Jenia (storyteller_86) | 70 comments I read this book twice. Movie should be awesome.

Stephanie | 41 comments I am soo excited for this movie and plan on reading the book again before it comes out. it is one of my favorites

Yay hope you enjoy it as much as we all did!!

Jeann (Happy Indulgence) (happyindulgence) | 258 comments The Host was interesting at the start (besides the blatant ripoff of Yeerks from Animorphs) until they spent 80% of the book underground, not doing anything. I got bored during this one.

The movie trailer looks alright though, it has the hottie from Pretty little liars :D

Lol well that's a reason to watch it then! I'm sure Hollywood will spice it up a little :)

Bobbi (spongebobbi) I'm currently reading this, and I must say I already love it! I've forgotton how much i enjoy Stephanie Meyers writing. I'm anxious to see how it ends :P

Nice!! It's been so long since I read it but can remember how much I enjoyed it :)

Dione Sage | 10 comments I loved this book, read it a few times. It was also my favorite Stephanie Meyer book. But I am nervous about it becoming a movie. Most movies don't do the books justice.

message 16: by [deleted user] (new)

Which Pretty Little Liars hottie is in the movie?

Kayleigh {K-Books} (kayley_12) I love this book. Really not a twilight fan but this one I adore.

Bethany | 171 comments YES! I love the Host. One of my all-time favorite books. I'm so excited for the movie and the trailer looks INCREDIBLE!!! I've read the book 3 or 4 times now and it's always so good. I hope the movie does it justice. From what you see in the trailer, it looks like they did a good job. Can't Wait!!! And I love Saoirse Ronan. I'm glad she's playing Melanie/Wanda because she can actually act!

Jeann (Happy Indulgence) (happyindulgence) | 258 comments Shannen wrote: "Which Pretty Little Liars hottie is in the movie?"

Oh, I thought it was Julian Morris (Wren) from PLL but according to imdb it isn't o_O oops

message 20: by [deleted user] (new)

Shoot! I love all the PLL guys!

LOL your book taste is so similar to mine it's scary!

Simone | 67 comments I literally just finished reading it and am currently wiping my tears. I absolutely adored this book! So moving and heartfelt and exciting! What more could I ask for? Is she really writing two more? Do you guys think it will ruin the first book or add to it? I'm not sure what I think yet... I'd read it anyway that's for sure.

Jeann (Happy Indulgence) (happyindulgence) | 258 comments Shannen wrote: "Shoot! I love all the PLL guys!"
Me too, I was thinking Max Irons looks quite similar to Julian Morris! *drools*

Kenechi Udogu (trixycae) | 76 comments Definitely her best work but I wasn't too sure about the end. Kinda ended like it was the first in a series...is it?

Kayleigh {K-Books} (kayley_12) @Kenechi, it's being advertised as a stand-alone but apparently she intended for it to be a trilogy.

David Estes (davidestesbooks) | 10717 comments Mod
It SHOULD be a series, I need more!!

Alana ~ The Book Pimp (loonyalana) | 295 comments There is talk, and has been for a while before the movie was being made, that there is another book from a tracker's view point... and I've forgotten who's viewpoint for #3 is.

Alana ~ The Book Pimp (loonyalana) | 295 comments although, maybe the movie put those books on hold or something?

Kiara | 20 comments i love this, much much much more than twilight!! yay, can't wait for the movies! i just hope it wont ruin my imagination the way they always do when they make books into movies :(

May (mayl) | 4 comments Was a bit reluctant about reading this because of Twilight, but when I finished it I wanted to punch myself for judging a book according to his author's past books. It's really a great book.
P.s- anyone knows if and when a sequel come out?

I know, I hate when I do that, stop reading an author because of one book. I always try to give second chances because I'd hope people would do the same for me!

DeAnna (dee84812) | 671 comments Supposedly, it's supposed to be a trilogy, if she ever gets around to writing them. According to wiki:

Meyer has said that she is working on additional books in The Host series and that she intends to write a trilogy. She said in an interview that, if published, the first sequel would be entitled The Soul and the second The Seeker. In November 2009, she said, "I'd like to eventually have The Host be part of a trilogy." In a Q&A session in Kansas City, Meyer stated that she has outlines for the sequels and has done some writing on them, but she has some qualms since The Host universe is a "dangerous place" where characters might die, and she is not sure if she wants to kill them off.

Simone | 67 comments Oh hell no! S. Meyer better not kill anyone in the Host :(

DeAnna (dee84812) | 671 comments I thought this was an adult novel? Anyway, I guess I'm going to have to reread before the movie comes out. I read it in 2009, I think, and don't remember too much of it.

message 35: by Lisa (new) - rated it 4 stars

Lisa Gilbert (lisagi) Great book, and very different to her 'Twilight' series, I thoroughly enjoyed this book!

I don't know, aren't the characters younger? It's been so long I can't remember lol! You could be right...

Awww, Heidi. I had a couple of people that had a hard time getting into this book, but once they got IN, they loved the last half.

I know you've never been a fan though.

I think she's 20. So, in 2008-2009, it was considered Adult. Nowadays, it'd probably be considered New Adult. It definitely doesn't read as a typical adult novel, though.
