When Sarah heard of Abraham’s plan
to sacrifice their son to his God
she yelped in pain and gave up a plea
that her son be spared Abraham’s knife,
as she saw it, a jagged tool in
his rough hands clasped in judgment with God
of a child in an act he knew was
in violation of God’s own law.
As she cried she mouthed the words to God,
“O Lord, take my life but not my son’s.”
So Sarah died while Isaac lived on,
not knowing of his mother’s defense,
his life had unwittingly ended
hers, but she herself had willed it so.

Michal Mahgerefteh (MichalMahgereftehPoetry) I like the story. Add biblical facts as if no one else is aware of real story. Make it knew to them. Give the ending a surprising twist.
