I liked the characters in this book but felt like we should have known more about some of the questions left unanswered. I really liked it until the ending because it seemed to just end. At the beginning of the book, it indicated that Eliza was looking back at her life and reflecting, so it seemed to me that when the book ended, there should have been much more of her life that could have been recapped for the reader, since she was not yet out of her 20's when it ends. It was an entertaining read, but thought that the loose endings could have been tied up better.

Judith (jloucks) Try Allene's "House of the Spirits" if you haven't already. It is generally considered her best book.
I've read both and liked "House..." best. I also have "Eva Luna" on my shelf to start one of these days...

Happy reading!
