He stopped her before she could even move. Even in her best form she couldn't bulge against matt's strength." Yumi, they are kids." He said looking at her. He looked into the forest and threw a rock hitting a tree close to them making them run off. He continued standing there as he held onto her fur. It was soft but her was ruining it by gripping it hard." Yumi, comeback to your senses." He said not wanting to she her angry.
Her anger continued to course through her veins, fighting against the truth behind Matt's words. Rationally, she knew he was correct but the deeper core of her demonic side was far from accepting anything. "Talk about something, anything." She managed to say. Calm down, I must calm down before anyone is hurt. She repeated the words in her mind, forcing happier thoughts and memories to calm down enough to regain her mortal form.
He sighed and hugged her neck tightly in a warm embrace." Take it out on me?" He asked as he knew he would survive anything she could throw at him. He waited for the pain but at the same time he wasn't.
Her eyes opened wide at his embrace, only to draw more surprise with the question. Take it out on him? She thought, humbled. Tilting her head to look at him, any trace of anger vanished and she returned to her human a p appearance. "Not possible." She murmured, tightly returning the embrace as tears leaked from her eyes. "I'm sorry."
"Its fine." He said before doing something his mind didn't register. His instincts had kissed her neck. When he realized what happened, he almost jumped back but his mind wouldn't." I'm sorry." He said blushing as that was the first time he had ever done that.
A small smile lifted the corners of her lips, relieved to hear the small form of reassurance. She, however, froze in surprise at his actions; her face warming with a pale blush. "Um, no, don't worry about it." She stuttered nervously. "I, uh, don't mind." Well, that was the utter truth hadn't meant to say aloud.
He froze when he heard what she said." So you don't care that i kissed you?" He asked not wanting to show his blushing face. He held her by her waist as they looked like a couple to some humans passing. He had continued to blush as the minutes passed.
She looked away, certain her face was bright red now. "No." She answered, pulling back slightly, unsure of her own self. Yumiko was silenced by her newly found bashful nature. She was fighting for proper words or reactions yet had none except one question: "Is it smart to trust a half demon who may attack a child?" Given, she only became hostile to those who proved threatening, but still.
HE smirked as he was still blushing. He had newly found feelings and emotions as he looked t the ground." Its only a protective mechanism. I did the same when the rock almost hit you." He said admitting he was the same.
She rolled her eyes. "I believe that ended with you picking me up and fleeing from the village." She retorted good heartedly, though she understood what he meant nonetheless. Running a hand through her hair, she cast a glance towards him. "I suppose you're right though." She admitted, leaning over to place a soft kiss on his cheek.
He smiled and kissed her back as soon as she kissed him. HE blushed and looked away." Would it be bad if i said i have these weird feelings." He said blushing as he stepped closer to her.
She smiled, shaking her head. "Not at all." She answered, resting her forehead against his chest, trying to hide her the blush that only continued to grow. "Well... I suppose if you're considering them plainly weird." She shot a grin up at him.
"I don't find them weird. It's just that i have never felt these feelings before." He said looking down at her grin. He picked her up and twirled her around cause he felt like it was something to do." Though i wonder who blushes more, Me or you?" He asked smiling.

[ I'm so very sorry for my absence, work and school have been quite crazy the week or so, not to mention this upcoming week - spring break - will be hell, haha. I have not forgotten about this place. c: ]"Fair enough" She reminisced in joy as the two spun around. When they came to a halt she laughed softly, giving a small shrug of her shoulders. "Surely we can call it even." She answered, her grin softening into a small smile. Who was she to judge on who blushed more? Taking his hand, she started on down the road once again, planning to keep to the outskirts of this village. Maybe they could avoid quarrels with the residents this time and making fair time before nightfall kicked in.

He smiled as they continued down the path holding hands, He had flattened his ears and wrapped his tail around his waist." We can go through the town if you want?" He asked as he walked beside her, multiple people walked past them as they looked like two regular people with matt hiding his tail and ears. He almost like how it felt until they he felt his tail start to cramp.
"Through the village it is then." Casting a glance up at him, she smiled softly before realizing his ears were flattened and he appeared almost human for the time. She laughed, unable to help it. "Don't tell me you don't want to embrace your half demon heritage and hide those lovely ears and tail of yours." She shook her head, smiling still, no one she had ever come across hid their demonic characteristics. "Doesn't that hurt though?" The question was out of pure curiosity. How could forcefully pinning both ears and tail not be straining?
He pulled her behind a hut letting his tail out and his ears up." Ouch." He sighed in relief as he massaged his ears. He looked her in the eyes and smiled." Well missy, i can't do what you do so can it." He said as he noticed their noses weren't far from eachother. He leaned forward as if he was going to kiss her.
She gasped at the sudden movement, placing a hand against the hut to keep from stumbling over her own feet. She hid a smile at his words. "What, the little wolf trick? That only works if you wish to avoid contact and escape the wrath of humans." She replied, matter-of-factly. Noticing their close proximity, a soft blush colored her face, her eyes widening slightly when he lean closer. She could feel her heart rate rising in both anticipation and nervousness.
He smiled as he kissed her lips softly. he held her by the waist switching them around so he had his back to the hut. He had picked her up and held her in his arms as he felt like they were in their own time and space, but reality struck when he heard the scream of a villager. He broke the kiss and looked around as men surrounded them with rakes and knives, he kept yumi behind him.
Lost in the moment, Yumiko hadn't noticed the humans until the scream. When he broke the kiss, she wasn't quite sure what was going on, simply overwhelmed by confusion. She glanced around at the mob of villagers, minding Matt's protective stance in front of her. However, at the first sign of attack, she jumped in front, shielding him from the knife while allowing injury to the back of her shoulder.
When he saw the knife plunge into her shoulder, he snapped. He howled her name looking at the crows as ht feel to his knees holding his head. He motioned for yumi to run, but he was to late as thunder struck down and hit him as he stood up. His furred body was pure white with arcs of lighting traveling across his body." Why, can't you leave us alone!." He shouted as he grabbed the one who had stabbed yumi in the shoulder and crushed his head. The blood didn't even stain him, by now, he had a blank look in his eyes as he walked towards the mob.
Mind partially blurred with her pain, she distinguished minimally what was beginning to happen. Forcing her pain to the back of her mind as the smell of blood caught her attention, she turned to see the battle laid before her. Her eyes widened. Oh no. She thought, returning to her true form, left forepaw lifted to minimize unnecessary pressure to her wound, and raced in front of him to protect the rest of the mob. "Enough, you've proved your point." She said, looking into his eyes and knowing far well the pain in hers could not be hidden.
"They need to be taught not to mess with us." He said kneeling down and pulling the knife from her shoulder. He didn't even flinch when she screamed in pain, all he did was touch her shoulder and cartalized the wound sealing it. After he did that he noticed the mob was in complete shock and fear as they had all fallen to their knees.
She fought a cry of pain when he removed the knife from her shoulder, though she couldn't help a small whimper. Standing in silence as he healed her wound and had noticed the crowd, she nipped his arm in warning. "See, they have learned enough." She stated. Even with the situation, her heart ached to console the humans - all she had ever known and stood by was to not harm humans no matter what they do to provoke her; given, there was a time she had attacked one of the village teens after a group tarnished the name of both her mother and half-demon cousin. The incident left her with a scar on her back not far from where the knife had pierced her skin. "They attacked and you counterattacked, now they have learned their lesson. Now please, lets go." She glanced back at the humans, giving them a polite nod. "Return to your homes before more damage than necessary is done."
Matt growled loudly before sighing in surrender." Fine." He said smiling as the lightning left his body and he returned to his normal form and collapsed to the ground unconscious. He would be out for the next three hours, and he wasn't in the most kind village. Some of the human tried for him but the other half demon guarded him." Fine, but if he tries anything once he wakes up, we'll attack both of you." Said the villager as they went on with their work.
Yumiko kept a protective stance in front of him, not daring to move in his unconscious state. She glanced up at the humans every now and then, making sure no one attempted to attack either of them. When she heard the villager, she nodded. "I understand." Biting her lip, she was beginning to question her original decision not to move Matt to another location. A small sigh escaped her, staying put would risk the humans going back on their word. They must learn to trust our word as we trust theirs. She thought.
Three hours later
Matt awoke with a sharp pain in his head. You fool, you should have killed them all. It said in his mind. He clenched his head in pain as he got up looking at yumi and than the body." Did i do that?" He asked looking at yumi seeing the sealed wound in her arm.

Having dozed off while she waited for him to regain consciousness, Yumiko stirred at the sound of his voice. She missed the question Matt asked, but noticed where his gaze was and a soft smile lit her lips. "I had not idea you had healing abilities." She said softly. "Are you alright though?"
"No, i cartelized the entire wound, it sealed it so it would just be a scare." He said smiling as he got up and stretched. He helped her up and started towards the other side of the village walking past villagers.
She laughed. "Nonetheless, it's better than it was." Letting him help her up and following him across the village, she gave a polite smile to the villagers, no sense of anger or mistrust showing. "They never tried once to attack us while you were out." She told him, a mischievous look glimmering in her eyes. "I told you it only took a little training." Casting a glance back over her shoulder at wound, her smile turned into a frown. "Thankfully the river is nearby" She mumbled, racing on ahead without another word. She phased mid-stride and jumped right into the river; the spot where the wound appeared in the same spot under her pelt, the fur around drenched in dry blood, just as her cloak had been. I can't stand it! She thought, rubbing against rocks in the water to clean her fur.
Matt looked at her than at his hands as dry blood was still under his nails and on his skin. He flinched in pain as his inner self taunted him. If you were stronger, she wouldn't have been even touched, and you would have just strolled out of there easily. Stop being a weakling and use my powers. He clenched his eyes thinking of all this as a bad dream.
Yumiko, finally giving up on cleaning her fur, returned to her mortal form and made her way from the river and back to Matt. She didn't have a care in the world that her clothes were soaked and hair loose from its tie. Approaching him, the slightest of small smile began to lift her lips until she noticed his expression. "Are you alright?" She asked, concerned.
Matt looked at her and opened her eyes." I'm fine." He said giving her a heart filled smile as he got up and jumped into the water without his sword. He smiled as it created a good splash and splashed yumi good. HE turned to her and smiled like a kid but he knew deep down, unless he could control this power he would be used by it again.
Not entirely convinced, she offered a small smile in return, masking her own uncertainty. She gasped at the sudden outburst of water, turning to stare wide eyed at Matt who was now in the river. Unable to help it, she laughed her smile more genuine than before. "Oh, I'll get you back for that!" She warned playfully, jumping in after him and surfacing not far away.
He stood his ground looking around not knowing where she was." Come out, come out, wherever you are." He said looking around not seeing anything as he continued to look not liking that he couldn't see where she was. Where did she go? He thought as he let his guard down
She surfaced behind him, eyes alight with warmth. "I'm right here!" She said, tapping his shoulder lightly.
He jumped looking behind him to see her." Gezz, talk about scaring someone." He said smiling as he walked towards her smiling as he broke her personal space." I spy with my little eye, a nice cute half demon." He said smiling as he looked down at her.
She giggled, looking up at him innocently. "Oh, did I scare you?" She asked, holding back a smile. "That was never the intention." As she stood there, watching as he broke the space between them, a soft blush lit her face with his comment; put at a loss for words. Glancing away, Yumi searched for words to fire back with and found nothing. With a smile, she gave him a soft kiss on the cheek.
That shut him up as he blushed dark red. His tail was waging back and forth as he looked away smiling. That was something he couldn't fire back at, unless. He smirked devilishly as he tackled her into the water looking down at her while smiling. He opened his eyes under the water looking down at her while smiling. He brought their lips together softly as he fired back at her.

[ I'm here! ^^; ]Waiting very patiently to see what he'd do in response, Yumiko held back a grin, her eyes lighting up with laughter. Her momentary triumph, however, was quenched as they hit the water. She smiled and looked up at him, not minding the water. As his lips met hers, she kissed back, touching his face lightly.
He smiled as he embraced her and held her waist lovingly. He never wanted to let go of her but he did when they resurfaced. He smiled at her as he winked at her." That was nice." He said as he caught his breath, his heart was still pounding in his chest because of the act.
She smiled warmly, stroking his cheek lightly. Though she didn't want the moment to end, they both unfortunately needed the air above to survive. Resurfacing, she gave a breathless laugh, moving strands of hair now covering her eyes. "It truly was." She said, wading towards the shore. "Hopefully you're alright with catching a half demon in the water and not a fish." She said with a sly grin.
"Oh, a must better catch." He said smiling as he waded towards the shore also. When he made it to the shore he made a small fire to dry off next to. He smiled as he removed his shirt hanging it on tree, so it could be dry in the morning.
She laughed, walking far enough from the fire to shake from head to toe, unable to help herself. Returning, she took a seat beside him and gaze quietly into the fire, lost in thought. So much had changed since leaving home and she hadn't expected to meet anyone decent along the way and now, Yumiko wasn't quite sure what the next road would lead. "Did you always live in the human village? Or did you live with demons for a time too?" She asked suddenly, surprising herself with what she had asked.

Mindful of Matt leaning against her foreleg, she eased forward and towards the humans, her ears pinned back and growling lowly. The anger from her past fueling the need to stop the attackers; at the moment, it didn't matter they were humans nor children. She came to a halt over the children's hiding place, her gaze leering down at them.
