Sameer Khan Brohi (sameerbrohi) | 15 comments Hello MaryEm good to see you. If you want to start with your first thriller book so I highly suggest you to read Girl in Room 105 Novel by Chetan Bhagat, it’s just mind blowing and after that you can jump to simpler book like Spider’s web of Agatha Christie.

Jason Agha | 7 comments Hello I would like to introduce myself my name is Jason Agha and I am not a reader of books in any sense but felt compelled to write my own book. This book about my family history. I am English born to a Muslim father and a Catholic mother, my Uncle was Agha Mohammed Yaya Khan. I wrote this true story for my children and also so that it would not be lost in the annuls of time. I have had some great reviews from people in the UK as it is available on Amazon and kindle but would really appreciate some real feedback from the country my father grew up in. I am not an author but felt compelled to get this down on paper.
BOOK BURB
Jason Agha takes us on an extraordinary
and moving journey; one that traverses time
and continents, class and culture.
From seemingly ordinary beginnings, Jason is suddenly thrust into another world, when his remarkable father’s true background is revealed.
Jason’s life will never be the same again.
This is a story of indestructible love, heroism, compassion and self-sacrifice, set against a backdrop of betrayal, tragedy, politics and war.
Please enjoy regards Jason

Walaikum Salam Amna. Are you from Pakistan?
And best of luck for your exams!

Amtal (taylor's version) Hey Im Amtal, im British/Pakistani. Im very into reading, favourite genres would be ya, ya fantasy, murder mysteries, thrillers and suspense. Random fact: I just love our pakistni tea 😁💖

message 2121: by Laraib (new)

Laraib (readbylar) Hi! I'm Laraib. I was born in Lahore but grew up in Canada, so I was super excited to find a group for Pakistani readers on here!

I used to read a lot when I was younger but kind of fell into a reading slump during my undergrad degree. However, I'm really excited to get back into it now that I've graduated! I love historical fiction and non-fiction and fantasy. I'm really looking forward to seeing what you all like to read :)

Very excited to be here!

message 2125: by Uzair (new)

Uzair | 1172 comments Oh me , oh my , two new members in as many days! Welcome to the group everyone. There's a few different kinds and nationalities ( though mainly pakistani ) of people here so you'll fit right in.
Although I will say the group is bit intactive these days , it's really very fun when people are around

@amtal
Perhaps the Lockwood and Co. Series would interest you , the main genre is supernatural but it's heavily Y.A and murder mystery-y as well.

@laraib
I'm a big fan of historical fiction as well . Ifyou can find it , " Before they were famous : Cleopatra " is a great read.

Happy readings guys.

Amtal (taylor's version) Oh okay thx u

Zarshal Saeed (zarshalsaeed) | 814 comments Hey Everyone! How’re you guys doing? Good? Great!

@Laraib congratulations on your graduation. I’m so looking forward to mine but it seems that the degree just keeps inching away from me 😭 Anyhoo, welcome to our group!

@Amtal, yk I used to hate YA books, I love them now since I buddy-read them with my friends here xD Welcome!

I bet now that you guys are here, you’ll have loads of fun. Just as soon as everyone starts getting active again. (Which y’all should now btw because it’s chutiyon ka time!)
Looking forward to seeing and hearing from you guys here. 🙌

Haseeb Saeed | 8 comments Hey Everyone!!!!! Happy new year...... I'm new here. I wanted to join a space where I can share my thoughts regarding my reads. Hope no one judges me here lol. I'm more of a documentary and conspiracy theory guy but I think it's time I change my focus on self-improvement. I've been reading a lot of self-help books lately. I would love to join any telegram/WhatsApp group cause this thread looks kinda overwhelming, maybe it's just the interface but who knows.

About Me:
*Cs graduate from NUST (2021)
*Currently working remotely as blockchain dev
*(AND NO ONE CARES)

Amtal (taylor's version) @zarshal saeed, I didn't read ya books up until my friend recommended me a ya book and since then I've been reading ya books

Oh. Hello fellow 2021 CS graduate reading self-help books for ... entrepreneurship purposes??

message 2131: by Laraib (new)

Laraib (readbylar) Thank you, everyone!

@Uzair, thanks for the recommendation! I've added it to my to-read list :)

@Zarshal, thank you so much! Haha, hang in there! The last semester feels like the longest and hardest for sure but its honestly so satisfying handing that last assignment in/writing that last exam 🎉

Welcome, Haseeb!

message 2132: by Zarshal (new)

Zarshal Saeed (zarshalsaeed) | 814 comments @Haseeb Welcome to the group. I myself don’t like self-help books but I’ve read Maybe You Should Talk To Someone by Lori Gottleib and I quite liked it.

@Amtal hehe yeah I can relate xD

@Laraib So true 🥺

Haseeb Saeed | 8 comments Jogi wrote: "Haseeb wrote: "Hey Everyone!!!!! Happy new year...... I'm new here. I wanted to join a space where I can share my thoughts regarding my reads. Hope no one judges me here lol. I'm more of a document..."

@Jogi well sort of yes. But I like reading more psychology/sociology type books. Working on something right now but think it's more coding less entrepreneurship lol.

@laraib Thanks you :)

@Zarshal well tbh I don't like how so many self-help books are just set of instructions with no plot/story. That's why I'm finding a week reading group of like minded people where I can explore different genres. Plus discuss more books.

message 2134: by Zarshal (new)

Zarshal Saeed (zarshalsaeed) | 814 comments @Haseen yeah I totally get that. It’s pretty much why I can’t stand self-help books too. Well I hope you find what you’re looking for here! 🤞🤞

message 2135: by Haseeb (new)

Haseeb Saeed | 8 comments @zarshal saeed thanks you're also "haseen" xD

message 2136: by Zarshal (new)

All tech startups are more coding, less entrepreneurship, at the start at least. Are your interests in psychology academic or instrumental?

Amtal (taylor's version) @zarshal true

message 2143: by Abdul (new)

Abdul Rafay (lyallpurkahani) | 3 comments Hi there! My name is Abdul Rafay and I'm a technologist. I love to read suspense and mystery thrillers, biographies, dystopian themes, books that offer realism, dark reality and pretty much everything.

message 2144: by Haseeb (last edited Jan 04, 2022 02:25PM) (new)

Haseeb Saeed | 8 comments @Jogi well academic suits me while reading instrumental isn't
for me.

message 2145: by Laraib (new)

Laraib (readbylar) Hey Abdul, welcome!

I love dystopian themes too, although it’s been kind of hard to find good dystopia that isn’t YA these days.

message 2146: by Zarshal (new)

Zarshal Saeed (zarshalsaeed) | 814 comments Yoohoo so many newcomers!?!
@Abdul welcome to the group! Quick question, what’s a technologist? xD
