Introduction
Hi, This is Mohi Uddin..I pretty much like to read most stuff though I must say, I love reading classics and books which touch on contemporary social issues.!!
I would love to interact with you all here.
Hello everyone,I am an avid reader from Karachi (or at least I used to be till life happened). Anyways, I am trying to get back into the habit of reading, an attempt towards regaining my reputation as a bookworm. I love to devour books, love the smell of old and new ones, breaking the spine with each reading of a book. I am currently reading A Girl Like That by Tanaz Bhathena and it has been quite interesting so far.
My love of reading eventually translated into a passion for writing and I recently started my own blog. Do check it out if you are interested in fictional short stories. Hoping to have some great conversations on this group!
Cheers!
Areej (a proud book hoarder)

Welcome to the group Ellipses. The people here are big 'gup shuppies' (When they're online) so you'll no doubt have some interesting conversations. Will check out ur blog.
Hey everyone! I'm Nayab from Lahore, doing major in mass communication. Though I've been a part of this group from some time now buts its the first time I'm introducing myself. I love to read, although I'm more of a fictional reader but I'd really like to get suggestions of anything worth giving a shot. I like to explore new things and like having healthy discussions. I'm quite excited to know you all and eager to learn throughout the process.
Hi Nayab.Although I've been told that my choice in books suck (I mostly stick to middle grade),ai've come across the odd gem or two whilst surfing the net.Ender's Game is a rather old sci-fi novel about The Childhood of one Andrew 'Ender' Wiggin and humanity's fight for survival.
I (and many others) regard it as a masterpiece.

I've heard so much about it and its in my want to read list as well. I'll make sure to give it a go after my current reads. Thanks for the suggestion! :)

@Amir Welcome to the group.I'm sure you'll get lots of recommendations, but before that what type of books do you like?
@Nayab.Yes it does have a movie adaptation but I can't imagine it being the same as the book what with the restrictions movies have.
As for the threads.Well in groups threads are arranged under topics. If you want to make a thread you could either choose appropriate topic or make a new one.
You'll fin it quite easy to navigate when you get used to it.Games are under the 'Chitchat' topic e.t.

Assalam o Alikum every one! Remember me? :P :v
I have finished Sarah J Maas's two novel series. A court of thorns and roses(acotar) series and Throne of glass series. I absolutely love love ACOTAR. And very much liked Throne of Glass. So those who are in fantasy and Acotar is a must read. Its not just any other fantasy it has meaning/symbolism for those who understand. Also what are you guys going to read for 23 March? I have Train to Pakistan and thinking to read that.
Hi, My name is Ahmed and I am avid reader of fiction, mystery, history and Science Fiction.I have recently started to explore other genres of book world.
I am a huge fan of Lord of the rings, Star wars and any book that has dragons and is set in Medieval times.
Hope to know you people some day and waiting for some amazing book recommendations.
Best Regards
Welcome to the group Ahmed.I'm also quite fond of medieval related books and history and sci-fi in general.
For Medieval you could try Five Kingdoms series or if you'd like something with a darker theme try The Beyonders series.
Both by Brandon Mull.
In Sci-fi Enders Game is and always will be my number one.

Hi everyone. I thought I had left message boards and forums behind but here I am once again. I just like to read and I think I have a writer somewhere in me who wants to get out but is kinda shy. That's just about it
Hi Arafat. It seems you're an old member?Whatever the case you'll find that its actually very fun here.
That is when people are actually active. . .
As for writing.Let that shyness go.Write and get your work critiqued;the most progress is made outside of ones comfort zone.
Hi! My name is Rafia and I am new to the book community. I have lately discovered my passion for books and I am really enjoying my time with books. As a book lover, I really find the urge to discuss my opinion on the book with someone sharing the same interest and to gain different perspective and insight on the book. So, connecting with people having same passion for books is pretty much the reason why I joined this group. Really looking forward to it!
Hi all,Hope you're fine :-)
I joined the group a few years ago, but its been a while since I was active here, so I thought it might be a good idea to re-introduce myself. This way I could perhaps catch up with old friends and get connected with the new members :-)
My name is Ramla Zareen, and I'm an avid reader of mystery and romance books, these days leaning more towards light-hearted contemporary romances.
Some of my favourite romance authors include: Judith McNaught, Julie James, Robin Bielman, Jennifer Shirk, Kristan Higgens, Rachael Anderson, Ashley Mallory, Zeenat Mahal, Adite Banerjie, Sapna Bhog, Mahi Jay, Shilpa Suraj, Ruchi Vasudeva ...and the list goes on, lol.
One great news at my end is that MashAllah I'm now also a self-published author on Amazon, yay!
My book is titled The One for Me. It's a light-hearted, romantic fiction, set in modern-day Pakistan.
I love connecting with fellow book-lovers, so please feel free to send me a friend request if you wish to :-)
Thank you!

Hello everyone, I'm Malik Tayyab. I started reading upon a book referral from some one, the first one I read was "One Minute Manager" it was an overall healthy experience. From there on, I have been on the track; periodic though, but I try to start a new one in a while. I have more inclination towards self help, psychology and science. Personally I like those books which offer a new dimensions to critical thinking process. I'm entirely open for recommendations on this cause. So please grace me.
Hi, my name is Moeed and I'm currently studying Computer Sciences. My interest in reading books increased last year when I decided to read as many books as possible by the time I get old and yeet out of this world. As a start, I made a resolution that this year I will read at least 30 books. I never knew I'd like reading books this much as a hobby when I started out. It's now one of my favorite hobbies. My other hobbies are watching movies/tv series, nature/architect photography, learning new things, astrology and memes. I'm open to almost all genres but my favorite genres are Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Mystery, Fiction, Comics, Horror, Psychology and Science.PS: I'm only interested in English literature.
Dear Fellow Pakistani Readers,
I hope you are in good health and spirits. I got an announcement to make. :)
Pakistani Readers is looking for new mods
It's been three years since we added a new mod. Additionally, one or two of the current mods would be leaving soon. more on that later. Traditionally, we arrange an election campaign and polling for the new mods, last one being in 2016, However, this time we'll first have a shortlisting and based on the number of shortlisted candidates, we would decide whether to have a go for public election or not.
Current Mod Responsibilities:
Lurk around, looking for any potential trouble makers, (fortunately, we get very few of those), supervise competitions, and do bit of trimming to keep the threads and sections fairly organized.
Additional Responsibilities:
{Being Considered} Well apart to from the usual stuff, you would be expected to do some additional work with us, like helping Pakistani Readers to evolve from:
A passive platform for Pakistani book lovers to interact with each other to platform/group that not just actively engages with its current members but also proactively promote book reading & related activities, not just the goodreads but also other social platforms, with an aim to leave a positive impact on people/society around us.
This seems like a daunting task, No worries, we start with small steps and there would be many of us, so nobody gets overwhelmed. We'll need to develop different strategies and dedicate resources to achieve this goal. If it doesn't go as plan, we'll have the current version of our group to return to. :)
If you are interested in joining Pakistani Readers as Mod, drop me a private message or an email, a short summary/abstract with your ideas or any relevant credentials, if any, that would support your candidacy
email: pakistani.readers@gmail.com
Deadline: Sunday, 10th November.
Good luck to everyone interested.
I hope you are in good health and spirits. I got an announcement to make. :)
