message 1: by Gabriel (new)

Gabriel I learned patience with the series. Sometimes greatness and authors do not write our favorite books as fast as we want them to.

Another idea I learned is no one is safe. We should enjoy all the characters or they might be there in the next book.

Jayme(the ghost reader) (JaymeILtheghostreader) | 1109 comments hahahahaha,

I learned people aren't all good or all evil in a series.

I learned if you love someone you should throw them out windows. :)

Dragons shouldn't be kept as pets.

message 3: by Kyra (new)

Kyra Do not participate in incest. Your children will probably be messed up.

Jayme(the ghost reader) (JaymeILtheghostreader) | 1109 comments hahahaha

If you are too noble, you will lose your head.

Don't put your tongue on the Wall even if someone double dog dares you.

message 6: by Gabriel (new)

Gabriel Another one. Being honest and honorable is overrated.

Dan Howland | 4 comments I learned that people in masks cannot be trusted,
and that its not the hound's fault he is the biggest and the strongest, he doesn't even exercise.

And the classic blunders, the most well know being never start a land war in the North, but only slightly less well known is never enter a battle of wits with an imp, when DEATH is on the line!

or am I thinking of something else?

Woolfie Silverbane (Nightlightknight) | 392 comments 1. Starks can win honour battles and battles in the field, but come up short in battles of wits
2. Reek rhymes with whatever ends with eek!
3. The Tullys are fish out of water, literally, utterly useless.
4. Everyone in the Vale of Arryn is a coward AKA It's not our fight coz we have a psychotic Queen and her baby son Swwetrobin
5. Danaerys loves getting sidetracked.
6. Where do whores go? Through the Ho-dor of course, silly dwarf:p
7. He's dead, oh wait he's not, oh he's dead again, of screw this words are wind!
8. Cersei rules only because she has a badass Dad, oh and she's damn good in bed, what else do you need? Brains? Nah!
9. Pay attention to your women, yes I mean you King Robert, if you had stopped obsessing about a dead girl things might have gone better!
10. Littlefingers, little birds, and little men, all devious things come in small packages.
11. Despots have the mos deserved deaths; Viserys, Joffrey, they died? Oh dear, how sad, never mind.

message 26: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie | 129 comments Woolfie,
Hahahahaha. I think maybe he really is deadish?

message 27: by Woolfie (last edited Nov 27, 2012 04:51PM) (new)

Woolfie Silverbane (Nightlightknight) | 392 comments Only if you see the body with your own eyes Steph, shame there were no dental records to check in those days and even then I wouldn't put it past Tyrion, Varys or Petyr to substitute another pair of gnashers to fake a death or something equally clever and devious.

message 28: by Woolfie (new)

Woolfie Silverbane (Nightlightknight) | 392 comments 12. The Greyjoys have never had a long term plan... until now!
13. The irony of the Dothraki horde not wanting to cross the sea must have pissed Viserys off something awful:p
14. The bet is on the bastards; who are they, whose are they and what roles will they play at the end of the day?
15. Bran wants to be a tree.
16. Hodor hodor hodor? Hodor! Hoodooooor!!
17. Stannis needs social lessons.
18. The Kingslayer needs a hand to get a grip of things.
19. The Freys never really enter the fray but arrive after the costs of the battle have been defrayed, which has begun to fray a lot of nerves.
20. Unimportant people are important, and clues are hiding in the pages.

Jayme(the ghost reader) (JaymeILtheghostreader) | 1109 comments I liked number 6 :)

In all seriousness too.
This series has so much phenomenal philosophic quotes. It's hard not to learn from them.

message 40: by Woolfie (new)

Woolfie Silverbane (Nightlightknight) | 392 comments Oh yeah, of course the most important lesson, the night is dark and full of terrors, what a nice thought, that could be, and probably is the boogeyman's propaganda.

message 41: by Jerrell (new)

Jerrell Taylor | 1 comments I learned that the most intriguing characters in a story are grey characters--characters harnessing both good and evil.
