Hi! I received a fantastic suggestion from group member Kassandra Lamb (http://www.goodreads.com/KassLamb) to open this thread.

Authors, do you have a new release, a giveaway, a promotion, or a contest you'd like to let the group know about? Please post about it in this thread!

S.R. Grey (SR_Grey) | 1 comments I have a new release romance/mystery novel: Harbour Falls. Harbour Falls (A Harbour Falls Mystery #1) by S.R. Grey

Best-selling author Maddy Fitch, researching material for a new novel, returns to her hometown of Harbour Falls to investigate a disappearance that has haunted the tiny Maine coastal town for the past four years. Maddy soon discovers that the case has gone cold, but the prime suspect, Adam Ward, is hotter than ever. Now living on an isolated island, Maddy takes up residence near the sexy Mr. Ward's home. As she begins to seek out answers, the mystery deepens, putting Maddy in jeopardy.
Lies, secrets, deceptions. Nothing is ever what it seems in Harbour Falls.

A steamy novel that immerses the reader in an intricate storyline that will keep them glued till the very last page.

And I'm hosting a giveaway here on GR: http://www.goodreads.com/giveaway/sho...

Beth Douggan | 1 comments Hi ladies,

A friend of mine, a women's fiction author and medical specialist in Africa, has just made her last novel available for free for a couple of days. Scarlet Skies of Savannah tells the story of a women's-rights functionary who arrives in Senegal full of good intentions with little idea of local realities.

And there she meets the cursing, drinking, cynical bush doctor Lukin who uses his semi-legal clinic to save lives of pregnant girls and Tuareg guerrillas alike. No, Renata's not in love with him (at least she doesn't think so). But soon she'll need his help to save a local boy called Essa - the third party of the unlikely trio...

The novel deals with harsh subjects and the heroine has some tough times facing her own weaknesses. It's too realistic for a regular contemporary romance and the ending, while uplifting and justifying, is definitely not "happily ever after"! I really like this book and would like to recommend it.

Here's the link to the book's Amazon page:

Rhonda (rhondahopkins) | 43 comments Hi all!

Tales From The Mist, a horror/paranormal anthology was just released last month. It features several authors from the We Read Indie Books RG2E! Group.

From Joe McKinney, Bram Stoker Award-winning author of Flesh Eaters and Mutated: “Tales From The Mist is one of those rare anthologies that gets it right from the first story to the last. It’s a magnificent feast of horror from some of the most assured voices working today. From cold-blooded tales of revenge to Faustian bargains to terrifying journeys into the dark corners of our world, these stories will make the shivers climb your back.”

From TW Brown, author of Dead: The Ugly Beginning: “To have a collection assembled by such a talented group of authors makes this THE anthology to own if you are a fan of horror.”

Abbey Macinnis (abbey_macinnis) Hi all,
I'm excited to share information about my new release, Holiday Jinx, a contemporary romance with some holiday magic thrown in. :)
I'm holding a contest on my blog.
It ends Midnight, Sunday, 11/25. :) You could win a copy of HJ.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year…unless you’re single and lonely.
Jinx—one of Santa’s elves—is in trouble with the Big Guy. She’s been charged with bringing holiday happiness to Christopher Ragan, CEO of Wondrous Toys. It’s a big job especially when he’s more attached to the bottom of a bottle than helping his fellow man.
She’s got enough trouble without spilling the secrets of the North Pole, but then along comes Natalie Burnes, a newbie CEO of Enchanted Toys and in trouble of a hostile takeover from Christopher’s company. The woman literally crashes Christopher’s vacation plans in a tucked away Michigan cabin---and the sparks start flying.
As if Jinx’s job of matchmaking the toy makers isn’t hard enough, she’s got to stay one step ahead of the North Pole patrol and keep out of sight of the humans. No way is she gonna screw up and lose her magic again. If the humans can’t find happiness and love by Christmas, Jinx forfeits her chance of seeing her true love too. What’s an elf to do?

Sandy (goodreadscomSandyRaven) | 1 comments Hi everyone! I have a new book out now. CAVERSHAM'S BRIDE is a Sensual Historical Romance, available now at Amazon and Kobo, and coming soon to ARe, iBookstore and B&N. It's so new it has no reviews and could use some lovin' if you're inclined.

Here's the blurb:

What would you do to save the ones you love most?

Sold into slavery by the men who were supposed to kill her, Angelia Gualtiero must now convince the man who purchased her to help her. Lia would do anything to save her little brother from her murderous aunt, even marry a man she knows wants nothing more than use of her body.

Marcus Renfield Halden, Ninth Duke of Caversham, needs an heir to secure his legacy and the futures of his young sisters from a desperate cousin whom he suspects of targeting him in pursuit of the title and fortune. When he sees a woman running from her guard in a market in Tangier, he is at first captivated by her beauty. After Ren learns her story, he's in awe of her bravery. He then makes Lia an offer she cannot refuse.

Her brother for an heir.

What neither expected was to fall in love.

Joseph Bruno (JoeBruno) | 3 comments Bargain - everyone loves a bargain, and "Joe Bruno's Mobsters - Six Volume Set" is a bargain that's hard to beat.

This boxed set, consisting of six books by mob writer Joe Bruno, starts with "Mobsters, Gangs, Crooks and Other Creeps - Volumes 1, 2, and 3 - New York City." All three books were once ranked No. 1 in the now-defunct Amazon book category "Gangs," and all three are consistently ranked in the top 100 in Amazon's "Organized Crime."

According to New York City criminal attorney Mathew J. Mari, "Mobsters, Gangs, Crooks and Other Creeps" is "a composite of characters and events that entwines the denizens of New York City's underworld with the rich history of New York City from the early 1800's through the early 1900's."

"The Wrong Man: Who Ordered the Murder of Gambler Herman Rosenthal and Why" describes the events surrounding the sensational 1912 murder of stool-pigeon/gambler Herman Rosenthal, including the two trials and subsequent execution of New York City Police Lieut. Charles Becker. Becker was undoubtedly a corrupt cop of the highest order, but Becker did not order Rosenthal's murder, and it was, in fact, to Becker's advantage to keep Rosenthal very much alive.

"Murder and Mayhem in the Big Apple - From the Black Hand to Murder Incorporated" details the progression of New York City murder machines from 1900-1940. It starts with the Italian Black Hand, and cruises through the Boys from Brooklyn, which later became part of the most deadly American alliance ever: Murder Incorporated.

Finally, to cap off this six-book boxed set there's "Mob Wives - Fuhgeddaboudit!" - a clever critique of the VH1 TV program Mob Wives. As L.L. McKenna said in her Amazon book review - The Real of Reality TV, "What a pleasure 'Mob Wives - Fuhgeddaboudit!' is to read! Mr. Bruno not only provides insight to the 'reality show' but includes his blogs and responses. While scripted or not, the only truth is the paycheck that the "characters" cash while exposing themselves to the viewers."

In summation: you get six Joe Bruno books for less than the price of a Starbuck's Double Latte.

Helen Marshall (helen_marshall) My short story collection HAIR SIDE, flesh side just launched this month from ChiZine Publications.

"A child receives the body of Saint Lucia of Syracuse for her seventh birthday. A rebelling angel rewrites the Book of Judgement to protect the woman he loves. A young woman discovers the lost manuscript of Jane Austen written on the inside of her skin. A 747 populated by a dying pantheon makes the extraordinary journey to the beginning of the universe. Lyrical and tender, quirky and cutting, Helen Marshall's exceptional debut collection weaves the fantastic and the horrific alongside the touchingly human in fifteen modern parables about history, memory, and cost of creating art."

Tori Scott (ToriScott2) | 1 comments I have a brand new release--The Christmas Wish http://amzn.com/B00AFBLUNA

Merry Peterson is not a big fan of Christmas. Ever since she found out at the age of 8 that her parents had lied to her about Santa, the whole holiday thing lost its magic. Now she's a long way from home, alone, and missing her family. And then she falls right into Santa's lap.

Jason Wells might be a hard-working news anchor, but he still takes time to play Santa for the kids at Children's Hospital, collects toys for underprivileged children, and solicits donations for worthy causes. But Merry's assignment for Dallas Beats magazine is to expose the darker side of the Channel Six news team, and Jason just might get caught in the middle.

The Christmas wish is a 20,000 word novella about the true meaning of Christmas and how helping others can lead to a dream come true.

Angela Quarles (angelaquarles) | 1 comments I have a new release, actually my first. It's with Secret Cravings and releases on Dec 19th:

Can a djinn and a magic slot machine bring two geeks together?

Riley McGregor is a geek trapped in a Good Ole Boy body and as owner of a microbrewery, smart chicks never look at him twice.

Rejected by a geek who wanted to “trade up,” Mirjam Linna would rather immerse herself in work than be the girlfriend-of-the-moment. Stranded in a Vegas hotel, she makes a wish—a night of hot sex with the man of her dreams. It's granted. She agrees to dinner, but afterward, she’ll say thanks, but no thanks, and see what’s on the SyFy channel. But when they meet, they're surprised to find they had a shared connection in their past. Sparks fly as these two learn to be in the moment, be themselves and find love.

Fans of Star Trek, Star Wars, Monty Python, Firefly and Marvin the Martian will enjoy this romantic comedy.

Austin Wimberly (Austin_Wimberly) | 3 comments I have a new-ish release (Is six weeks old still young enough to be "new"?).

The title of my book is Sobornost, and it is an adoption themed work of women's fiction.

From Amazon:
A powerful story of mothers and sons, of acceptance and rejection, set in Yekaterinburg, Russia in the years after the collapse of communism, Sobornost is about one boy's adoption and three Russian mothers who are forced to make heartbreaking decisions for their children.

The Midwest Book Review says:

Sobornost is a cooperative journey that includes social and religious introspection as well as cultural interactions, and ultimately reveals the linked points in a world governed by a belief in God and the principle of sobornost.

A positive, uplifting story evolves.

It's available on:

Kindle - http://www.amazon.com/Sobornost-ebook...

Nook - http://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/sobor...

Kobo - http://www.kobobooks.com/ebook/Soborn...

Living her whole life in the small town of Raven, Ohio, Nevaeh has always been fascinated by the supernatural through her mother's stories of vampires, angels and the war between them. However, her own feelings of right and wrong, good and evil, love and hate are thrown into a quandary when she meets and falls in love with Ian. And what about her father's mysterious disappearance two-years-prior? And why can't Nevaeh stop thinking about the vampire Lukas Blazer from her mother's stories?

D.J. Gelner (djgelner) | 1 comments My first novel, Jesus Was a Time Traveler, was released just before the new year. Only two more days left on its Goodreads giveaway (link below) for signed copies.

JWATT follows the adventures of Doctor Phineas Templeton, a scientist who creates a time machine at the behest of his rich, shadowy Benefactor to go back and visit Jesus Christ.

The only problem? When the good doctor travels to Ancient Judea, he finds that "Jesus" is nothing but a fellow time traveler, a hippie grad student from Colorado named Trent. Trent explains that the past is fixed and immutable; whatever happened, happened. History as we know it is merely the sum total of all actions taken by meddlesome time travelers, provided a very finicky universe allows them to do so.

Upon returning to his ship, Doctor Templeton finds that his Benefactor has arranged a series of tasks to be completed before Phineas is allowed to return to the future.

From watching his hero, Sir Isaac Newton, be berated by a high school physics teacher, to rescuing two misfit American soldiers, to surviving an attack by Mayans, and even hunting dinosaurs, Doctor Templeton struggles against all odds to return himself to his proper time.

What he finds along the way is a conspiracy thousands of years in the making that will shake you to your very core.
