ceeeeg this recipe comes from my mother-in-law and has been a staple of every family-n-friends get together for the last many years i have been part of the family....

should be made ahead to allow for a full chill of the dip before serving, this appetizer will happily tide folks over til dinner hits the table....

Creamy Cucumber Dill Dip

*8oz. cream cheese, softened
*1 cup mayo
*2 med. cucumbers, peeled/chopped
*1 small can black olives, chopped fine
*3 Tbsp. scallions, sliced
*1 Tbsp. lemon juice
*1 Tbsp. fresh dill weed
*dash cayenne pepper, to taste
*salt and pepper, to taste
*1 lg. rye or pumpernickle loaf*

Beat the cream cheese until smooth. Add the rest of the ingredients and mix until creamy.. Cover tightly and chill until ready to serve. Garnish with additional dill sprigs and chopped red bell pepper, if desired.

Cut the center out of your bread loaf to create a bowl shell; fill with the dip. Cube up the removed bread and serve along with fresh vegetables as dippers.

*NOTE:be sure to purchase an unsliced round

ceeeeg for you ham-lovers out there, this is one of my most fav recipes ever....i can not even think about having ham without it...

so for those of you doing a ham too, this one is for you!

Killer Cherry Glaze

*1 (12oz) jar cherry preserves
*1/4 cup honey
*1/4 cup red wine vinegar
*1/4tsp ground nutmeg
*1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
*1/4 tsp. ground cloves
*1/4 tsp. salt

In a small saucepan, combine all ingredients. Simmer for 5 mins.

Use to glaze ham in the last hour of baking, over ham steaks on the grill, or as a sauce to dip bites of ham into (which is how i like it best).
