Kaje Harper | 14467 comments If you have or submit to a site that reviews LGBT young adult stories, please list it here with a link, as a resource for both our readers and writers.

Please give:

site name
site link

whether it is YA exclusive or does both adult 18+ and YA

Jo Ramsey (Jo_Ramsey) | 1017 comments I don't have a link to add, but thanks for starting this thread, Kaje! I'm doing some promo/review submissions for Featherweight Press now, so I'm definitely looking to add to our list of sites/blogs. (Not all FW books have GLBT characters, but some do.)

That's great, thank you. Do you do all YA, or adult 18+ books too?

It's not exclusive to reviewing LGBTQ fiction, but I have reviewed several YA books in the genre. I'm not adverse to reviewing 18+ books either.

Anna | 134 comments A blogger started a feature called LGBT Friday here:

It's good to get a little exposure on blogs that don't exclusively do LGBTQ reviews.

message 14: by Lissa (new)

Lissa (parisbvamp) | 64 comments Can people add info on who to submit to some of these because I'm having a hard time finding it on the sites. Also some sites don't review, I'm here, I'm Queer says they just post blurbs and not to send any files because they don't actually review. So maybe something more in depth would help like:

Site:
Submission info: (link to page email whatever)
Review type: (ya adult etc)
Contact: (if there's a specific person)

I actually read through reviews before submitting to a site. Some sites are pretty controversial and just because that works in big media, doesn't mean I want my little YA book there. Does that make sense?

I do have a long list that does 18+ and will review YA, but I'd like more that are exclusively YA.

message 15: by Madison (last edited Aug 25, 2013 07:16AM) (new)

Madison Parker (madisonparklove) | 27 comments Lissa, you're welcome to take a look at this spreadsheet, which lists the name of the review site, the link to their submission guidelines, contact info, and whether they're LGBT and YA exclusive or not. All the sites listed do review YA.

Absolutely you can add information to this thread - it's meant to help out group members (just keep it positive ie. when talking about reviews on sites.)

@ Madison - thanks for the link - it's so cool of you to share that.

Cool - are they mixed adult and YA? Because clearly some of the reviewed books are 18+.

message 30: by Sara (new)

Sara Elis | 3 comments Ya they seem to mix ya and adult. Would be better if they labeled it/put an adult section.

Kaje Harper | 14467 comments Sara wrote: "Ya they seem to mix ya and adult. Would be better if they labeled it/put an adult section."

Well I guess adults read a fair bit of YA, but it does mean under 18 readers need to be aware. A YA tag is always a good idea.

J.S. Frankel | 103 comments I don't know if this has already been mentioned, but Prism Alliance does reviews and they're pretty thorough about it. They gave an honest review for my novel Picture (Im)perfect (featuring a transgender co-MC) and they're also pretty fast, too. Check them out.

ADD-on: As far as I know, they do YA and also adult, but it's best to query first.

Cool - just as a point of information, is it all YA-appropriate, or will there also be 18+ books featured?

All genres. YA. Nothing erotic/ 18+

I'm also looking for books to review for a new section in my YTube channel. So, if anyone is interested in having a video review of their work and willing to ship me a copy feel free to PM me here or preferably email me at tempest071990@gmail.com

While I won't be able to do video reviews of erotic stuff I wouldn't mind posting reviews on Amazon and Goodreads. Thank you!

I would suggest also checking out the above sites for what they have reviewed, and sending a request if it looks like they have other similar books. You might also look up other books in the same age range (perhaps off the list LGBTQ+ Middle Grade Books - https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/1...) and search online for reviews of them, then solicit those sites.
