The theme for the January MR's is coming of age/beginnings/new starts/revolution/change. An example would be High School Debut, which is about a girl who wants to start over in high school and find a boyfriend, rather than focusing on sports. Each member can suggest up to 5 series. One can be shounen, but no sexual content or intense violence. Just about every manga series out there has some kind of change associated with it, but try to find a series with change and beginnings with the main focus. For example, a character who moves to a new place or goes to a new school or a character who wants to change an aspect of their life or who meets someone new who really affects or changes their life.

Suggestions: Crimson Hero, Volume 1 by Mitsuba Takanashi, High School Debut, Vol. 1 (High School Debut, #1) by Kazune Kawahara, Electric Daisy, Vol. 1 (Dengeki Daisy, #1) by Kyousuke Motomi, From Far Away, Volume 1 by Kyoko Hikawa, Papillon 1 by Miwa Ueda, D.N.Angel, Vol. 1 by Yukiru Sugisaki, Chi's Sweet Home, Volume 1 by Kanata Konami, Kitchen Princess, Vol. 1 (Kitchen Princess, #1) by Natsumi Ando, Kare First Love, Volume 1 by Kaho Miyasaka, Yotsuba&!, Vol. 1 by Kiyohiko Azuma

Kristen | 1392 comments I suggest: Yotsuba&!, Vol. 1 by Kiyohiko Azuma I think this works pretty well with this theme. It's about a weird little girl that seems to be experiencing everything for the first time.

@ Kristen: I'd count Yotsuba. She's also moved to a new town and is making new friends. :)
