Erin Beckstead | 9 comments I'm not so sure I want to read Christopher Pike but Im always down to discuss Christopher Pikes' literary genius and his great body of fictional masterpieces.

message 2: by Erin (new)

Erin Beckstead | 9 comments I think Remember Me will always be my favorite (since it popped my Christopher Pike cherry) but I also think I really enjoyed Scavenger Hunt. That was about a group of friends right?

message 3: by Megan (new)

Megan (missmegankay) | 4 comments Mod
I think my fave's either Remember Me or Scavenger Hunt. Aren't they all pretty much about the same thing? The one where they go camping and the guy falls off a cliff is scary, too.

message 4: by Samantha (new)

Samantha | 4 comments The most vivid in my mind is Weekend, about the burn victim. But Witch was also super creepy, it was 15 years ago anyway. Didn't she have creepy eyes or something. Bury Me Deep also scared me but I don't remember why.

message 5: by Starr (new)

Starr | 13 comments Hey guys! I admit that I love Christopher Pike's books. Once I get one in my hand, I can't put them down. I remember being emotionally drained after reading "I'll see you later" and "Witch." Those are two of my favorites. He always has such interesting plot twists. He puts some rather profound thought into his novels as well. If you haven't tried one of his "grown up books," try reading "Blind Mirror." This book was fabulous as well.

message 6: by Erin (new)

Erin Beckstead | 9 comments Blind Mirror? Okay! I think I will give that a try...now that Im an adult Ive stopped reading C.Pike books, but if hes written one for an older audience then Im totally down to give it a try! Thanks for the recommendation, Starr!

message 7: by Kate (new)

Kate (ladykatherinebookgoddess) | 1 comments I haven't thought about Christopher Pike in years! My favorite of his teen suspense is definitely Road to Nowhere, or maybe The Midnight Club. But my all time favorite of his is Sati. It was a magical book. I read it years and years ago, and it stuck with me in a visceral way.

message 8: by Carrie (new)

Carrie (slayerfan1975) Season of Passage seemed to have the most effect on me. I've been holding on to some of his more recent works, afraid to read them because he may stop writing someday soon :(

message 9: by Joy (new)

Joy | 2 comments Sati, followed by the Last Vampire series, midnight club, die softly, fall into darkness, and last act, to name a few. But I could go on and on trust me...

message 10: by Ella (new)

Ella (peacechild_123) | 2 comments Hey everyone! I think my favorite has to be Chain Letter. It was the first Pike book I read and it definately made an imprint on me. (:

message 11: by Erica (new)

Erica Leigh (iamericaleigh) | 3 comments the first one i read was Remember Me, in middle school or something. i loved it so much. my favorite though would have to be the 'final friends' trilogy. i thought it was genius in middle school, but when i re-read it a few years ago, it wasn't as great as i remembered it to be haha. still love it though.

message 12: by Ivo (new)

Ivo Whisper of Death and The Grave...

message 13: by [deleted user] (new)

Thirst. Don't we all love Sita?

message 14: by Melissa (new)

Melissa (alwayslissa) | 15 comments I'm sorry. But Thirst will always be The Last Vampire to me. I get that Thirst is a catchier name, but I've been reading Pike since I was 11 or 12. I'm in love with this brain.

Anyway. My favorite is The Starlight Crystal. Followed by The Hollow Skull, The Wicked Heart and The Immortal.

message 15: by Veronica (new)

Veronica (vadeluna) | 1 comments The Remember Me series & I hear they're re-releasing it!!! But I do love all of Pikes books. I remember going out & trying to buy as many as I could when I was younger.

message 16: by Justina (new)

Justina (librarian_stina) | 12 comments The Immortal was the first one that I ever read (in like 6th grade!) and I became addicted to Pike's books about a year later. I also love The Starlight Crystal, and !oh! the one where... hold on, I gotta think of the name of it! ummm the main guy was Pepper and the girl wanted an abortion or something.... ummm... *quick google search* WHISPER OF DEATH!!!!!! OMG THAT BOOK HAD AN IMPACT!

and also, my favorite series was THE LAST VAMPIRE (even though I haven't read past part of the second yet, but I'm workin in it!)

message 17: by Natasha (new)

Natasha | 1 comments Remember Me will always be my first CP love, but I think the Alosha Trilogy has me hooked now. Is he gonna get Nemi going??

message 18: by Julie_ian_curtis (new)

Julie_ian_curtis | 8 comments WHISPER OF DEATH and final friends :)

message 19: by Starr (new)

Starr | 13 comments I love seeing which books everyone loves best, because some of them I forgot about....like Whisper of Death.

message 20: by James (new)

James (redvelveteyes) | 8 comments The Last Vampire series, and Remember Me trilogy. \m/

I never did get Whisper of Death. :P

message 21: by Melissa (new)

Melissa (alwayslissa) | 15 comments I always preferred the books he wrote that had an obvious Eastern influence in them. I knew he meditated and those books always made me feel rather relaxed when I read them. They flowed effortlessly.

message 22: by Shannon (new)

Shannon (xoxoshannon1979) Last Vampire series, midnight club, die softly

message 23: by Michelle (new)

Michelle Gerber (mish81) | 1 comments Sati and Midnight Club... although it's been years since I read most of his books -so maybe it would change after re-reading them?

message 24: by Sandra (new)

Sandra | 1 comments It was first book i read by him, Road to Nowhere! I also loved Sati.

message 25: by Starr (new)

Starr | 13 comments Midnight Club felt like such a different book than what he normally wrote. I liked it, but I just remember thinking that this particular book was far more morbid than usual. ;) Still, I really liked it. He writes such a variety of books, all of which made me think in some way, and that's what I love.

message 26: by Ryana (new)

Ryana (ryana686) | 1 comments I really loved the Remember me Series! and Whisper of Death wow! what a dark Book that was! I am rereading right now so I will get back to this !

message 27: by Colleen (new)

Colleen (lightuplingo) | 1 comments The Alosha Books are the best I've ever read by any author!

message 28: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 1 comments I think my favourites are the Sita series, well up to book 6 anyway. The books have a different feel to them from book 7. I absolutely love scavenger Hunt, Hollow Skull, The Listeners and Season of passage. I have read his books since I was a teenager and I don't think I'll ever stop loving them!! He is fantastic

message 29: by Robyn (last edited Aug 28, 2012 07:32AM) (new)

Robyn I loved the Spooksville Series. The Alosha Books are awesome too (although it would be nice if Nemi got published sometime).
Still need to read many of his books though. Currently reading Witch.
Final Friends is next on my "to-read" list.

message 30: by Anna (Bananas) (new)

Anna (Bananas) Pike was my favorite author in junior high and high school, followed closely by LJ Smith. Still love them both even though neither is writing much anymore.

Favorites: Fall into Darkness (my 1st Pike), Gimme a Kiss, Remember Me, Final Friends.

Now the weird ones: See You Later, Scavenger Hunt, Whisper of Death (so crazy), Road to Nowhere, Eternal Enemy, Monster (any other fans of the cannibal book?)

Adult books: Season of Passage, The Listeners.

message 31: by Matthew (new)

Matthew Behling (MattyKB) | 11 comments The Season of Passage is my favorite book PERIOD, besides being my Pike fav. If I had to pick from his YA books, it's a tie between Monster and The Wicked Heart (though Whisper of Death is pretty high on the list).

message 32: by Justina (new)

Justina (librarian_stina) | 12 comments Oh right, The Wicked Heart was a good one! I read that in 6th grade when a friend loaned it to me... wow, I almost forgot about that one!

message 33: by Matthew (new)

Matthew Behling (MattyKB) | 11 comments Lol. The Wicked Heart... nothing like a book about a serial killer possessed by a nazi b****. ;)

message 34: by Neil (new)

Neil Cokeley | 4 comments My favorite of all time is remember me!!!!! I'll never forget you Shari Ann cooper!

message 35: by Matthew (new)

Matthew Behling (MattyKB) | 11 comments I like Remember Me. I like the 3rd one as well. Second one sucked though.

message 36: by Arge (new)

Arge Yeah I like remember me. And also one (I think it was execution of innocence) about the two girls who sold really popular cookies that they were lacing with drugs? Any ideas if I'm right? In all honesty I loved them all when I was a kid, although I struggled to get on with the more trippy sci-fi ones.

message 37: by Matthew (new)

Matthew Behling (MattyKB) | 11 comments It's Die Softly that has the two coked out chicks. Execution Of Innocence had the two drunk girls and the coked out brother.

message 38: by Orissa (new)

Orissa Loftin | 2 comments The one that has always stuck with me is Scavenger Hunt. Just something about those lizard people really left an impression on my young brain. And then of course, I love all the rest of them.

message 39: by Theresa (new)

Theresa (theresa99) My favorite Pike books has to be The Last Vampire/ Thirst and Witch, followed by the Remember Me series. I can't say I have been able to get into most of his later works.

message 40: by Samantha (new)

Samantha Fenn (sammifenn) | 1 comments Whisper Of Death. I don't think any book has turned me upside down like that one has since!
