I agree with Brenda Lynxie - 'Light Between Oceans' is an excellent read

I totally agree with you Brenda. This book is brilliant and probably one of the best books I've read this year but I was really disappointed in Marieke Hardy's comments about it on FTBC where she basically likens it to McDonald's and says it is not well written. Did you see the program? I didn't but a friend told me about it and I read the transcript. Seriously how can she think that? Not that it changes my view about the book. I love it!!!
No, I didn't see the program, and I'm glad I didn't. I can't believe her...she shouldn't be a reviewer, if that's what she's called. Doesn't she know that everyone's views are different, and that she should say SHE didn't enjoy it, but others would!!! She needs to get over herself, and realize that not all opinions are hers!!

Thanks Michael, I didn't realize we were at the next stage yet...I'll go check it out:)

Totally agree with you Brenda. I read her book only because I thought that with all the criticism she gives everyone else, it would have to be pretty amazing....well it wasn't and she's not a literary genius so I really don't know where she gets off...maybe she gets paid to be so contrary...makes for better ratings, perhaps?

I'm sorry this isn't the right thread to post this in, but I can't access the First Tuesday Bookclub thread......don't forget to watch the final episode tomorrow night at 9.30 to see the top 10 announced...will be good to finally see the books!!
