Hello po! New member here. My name is Beatrice (or Bea) and I'm 15. Born and raised sa Mandaluyong, pero last year I moved to Connecticut, U.S.A. I love books, anime/manga, TV shows, etc. Um, what else? Usually meron akong binabasa na required reading for English (literature kasi dito imbis na grammar) and as of now I am reading Frankenstein by Mary Shelley. Pero madalas rin po ako magsabay ng books. So I'm also reading Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick on the side, haha.Wala akong definite na genre of books, pero usually for young adult books I lean towards fantasy, paranormal, and science-fiction. Kung mainstream literature naman, mahilig ako sa mga postmodern classics, like Lord of the Flies by William Golding. I think it's because of school, haha.
Anyway, nice to meet you all po! :)
Hi Bea, welcome! hush, hush is ok for me. but the second book, crescendo, didn't like it. but i'll read the third installment, for curiousity's sake :)
Hi Bea! Hi Almond! and Hi kay Baker King! (chuckles)I'm an anti-fan of Becca Fitzpatrick *evil laugh*

I've also tried audio books, though it's only for a brief period of time, and what makes it particularly work for me is that they add more feel and texture with the story.
The very first audio books I've tried are the short stories of Stephen King which I downloaded somewhere in the net, but sadly got deleted when my computer has to be reformatted. But my very first and the one that I will never forget is King's The Man in the Black Suit since I read the story while listening to the audio book. I don't know about you, but reading the actual novel, or short story for that matter, while listening to it audio book adds more to the "feel" of the story. But yeah, i have to agree with K.D. that sometimes it slows you down.
Just my two cents, Titus. :)
