Hi Maureen! Thanks glad you liked it, and I believe you since that's exactly what I do as well to blogs I love, hence a Google reader filled to the brim!

Hello and thank you, Kwesi!

Hi! So I just found this group and decided I just HAVE to be a part of it. :)I'm Nelvie Fatima Jane Soliven but people just call me Nj /enj/. I'm fifteen and I'm a bio major in the University of the Philippines. When I have free time, I'd always visit either the Main Library or the Library of College of Arts and Letters to read.
Presently, I tend to read more Young Adult novels, because, let's face it, we all have to grow up and there will come a time that we won't enjoy YA anymore. I've read the usual series: Harry Potter (and loved it - no, more like "it became my life"), A Series of Unfortunate Events (will never get old), Percy Jackson & the Olympians, Kane Chronicles, The Heroes of Olympus (all hail Rick Riordan), Hunger Games Trilogy, The Mortal Instruments Series and The Infernal Devices Series (both by Cassandra Clare). I'm also into Teen Romance (I don't take it seriously though, I just read them to kill time), especially those written by Sarah Dessen. I devour thought provoking books (like those by Jodi Picoult and dark, disturbing ones by Chuck Palahniuk. I read classics too. And basically anything that I catches my eye in the library or book sales.
One random thing about me related to reading and books: I rarely buy brand-new books.
Hello and welcome, Nelvie! I'm a newbie here too. I like Sarah Dessen and Jodi Picoult too. I haven't read anything from Chuck Palahniuk but I might give him a try sometime :D
Hullo there Nelvie!Hope that we'll be able to meet you in one of 'em Meet Ups this year. Looking forward to it. :)
Hi Nelvie I love Jodi Picoult, Cassandra Clare, Rick Riordan, but I'm not that really into classics so I've never read any work by Chuck
Nelvie, I love HP 1 (no time yet to read the others because I have no copies of them, that's part of it). I loved "FIGHT CLUB" by Chuck Palanhiuk (4 stars)!
Hey guys~ I'm new here in Goodreads and thought I should join this group since it seems so fun and all... I'm 18 years old and I live in Cebu. I've been reading books since I was 12 years old. I basically read anything but I'm more partial to the mystery/suspense genre and lately I've been reading more classical books and non-fiction (historical) books as well. I'm currently reading Tombs, Temples and Hieroglyphics by Barbara Mertz (Egypt fascinates me) and as of the moment I think I'm becoming addicted to Goodreads..sooo.. Hi! :)
Hello everyone nice to be in a Filipino group. I'm so much obsessed with books, though just starting, started to read at 13, and now look at what it do to me. Oh, I love the Vampire Academy Series and The Hunger Games. A book that is surely right to the appetite.
Oops, a rather late reply. Thanks for the warm welcome, Kwesi Ian Jay, Bookrazy-Koi (the beef's okay), Rollie, jzhunagev (those two books are epic!), Joyzi (the unofficial goodreads mascot), K.D., Maureen Monlore (looking forward to talking to you, too).I still don't have the hang of this, but I am trying. See you around! :)
Hello po sa lahat ng members ng Filipinos group! I'm new to goodreads and I got sort of attracted to this site because of an acquaintance, and then I found this group :)I'm Gelo, a college freshman from UP Diliman and I love reading. Well, here it goes...I started to read when I was still a little kid because my parents believed that "a child's brain is like a sponge" haha and flooded mine with those kids' encyclopedias. I guess that developed my love for science...
Fast forward that a bit, I really came to love novels while I was in grade school (If my mind serves me right, It was during my fourth grade). I remember doing my very first home reading report and borrowing Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban from a classmate(i read HP3 first haha). I got really hooked to reading after that(Goosebumps and those short novels for children were my first favorites).
My favorite books are of the YA and Fantasy genres. The Book Thief, I Am The Messenger(also by Zusak) The Golden Compass, practically anything by Lois Lowry, and many others. But Harry Potter FTW! I grew up practically reading Harry Potter and it never gets old rereading all seven of them (I did that every summer for two years now). I also liked A Series of Unfortunate Events. The spines of the thirteen books look good on my bookshelf haha. Recent favorites are The Hunger Games (especially Mockingjay!) and books by Rick Riordan. I also got forced into liking Classics all due to my Literature classes haha. I liked Don Quixote kasi humorous ang writing. I'm currently reading Inferno by Alighieri. Nosebleed ang classics 'pag yung naka-verse, i.e. The Iliad. Pero I think nasanay na ako sa dami ng readings sa school -_-. Next in line for my non-academic reading(haha) is Good Omens though I think dapat inuna ko na siya kasi nate-tempt akong basahin na siya. Hnggggg! I am also looking forward to read Under The Dome by Stephen King.
Sana walang ma-offend pero I am one of those who really do not like Twilight et. al. Kahit anong purga na sa akin ng mga classmates ko dati from high school talagang wala haha. Feeling ko kasi naiba na ang perception ng mga teens ngayon sa vampires, not to mention na ang shallow ni Bella. Di tulad nung sa Dracula ni Stoker, creepy talaga haha. Oh well...that's it!
Sorry for having a lengthy introduction :))) Thanks!
P.S. I also do like to watch HIMYM, The Big Bang Theory, and Glee. Though I temporarily stopped watching them due to time constraints. :)))) Cheers!
Hi Gelo welcome to GR-Filipinos with your, Wow, lengthy introduction. Don't worry a lot of readers here are not big fan of Twilight and have fun reading!
Gelo, I am offended. I loved Twilight (the book, not the movie). But it's okay. I am too old and too tired to argue about the merits of this series.Welcome, nevertheless. I also liked HP (especially HP1 kasi yan pa lang ang nabasa ko). I also liked THG (especially THG1 kasi yan lang talaga ang nagustuhan ko). I also liked Lois Lowry (particularly "The Giver" kasi yan pa rin lang ang nabasa ko). Ha ha
I think I will also like Don Quixote (kasi 1001 book yan at babasahin ko pa).
Gulo ko. Censia na. Ngarag ako this morning dahil kay Nicholas Sparks (3 hours sleep dahil sa kanya!) Ha ha
I'm neither a Twilight lover nor a hater (Haven't read any of the books but I find the movies tolerable at the least). But my stand is that if you hate it just make sure you hate it because it sucks (pun intended) and not because it's mainstream and you're just putting yourself above the huge number of people who are crazy about it :-)I find Bram Stoker's Dracula a love story first and a horror movie far second (it's slogan is "Love Never Dies" and it's closing theme is "Love Song for a Vampire"). Unlike other monsters, vampires are usually motivated by love instead of just an insatiable thirst for murder (and if there's any story that gave that notion it's Bram Stoker, not Meyer)
Gelo wrote: "I am also looking forward to read Under The Dome by Stephen King."Hullo there Gelo and welcome to the Filipino Group!
Under the Dome ba ika mo? I'm also looking forward to reading that and I got a long way to go!
Greetings, you're in good company here! ^_^

Ang Touch Me Not (huwag mo akong salingin) ay sa Noli Me Tangere.
It's great to see more people joining everyday. Welcome to all the new members!K.D. & jzhun, the group is now at 980 members. Dapat may premyo para sa ika-1000! Kahit man palakpak. Hahaha.
For the benefit of us newbies, can you introduce us to the people in the picture from the Christmas party?
