I live in Makati :) The book is currently available at lulu.com, plan to talk to Powerbooks to bring it in
I live somewhere in Malabon, so don't ask me exactly where I live if you don't like to get itchy with the fact that I live nearby ...... tuuut ..... word rejected. Why not join us next month? I think the other GR are planning to have a mini-meetup and good luck!

well... You're halfway done with CA ryt? So just finish it na lang muna :) the giod thing about it is that it can stand alone i mean, being a prequel and all. And you'll see similarities between the two books once you read MI. So you can go either way really. I read MI first coz it came out first lol but when i read CA i found similarities... It's like clary and jace only in a different era :)
guys who have accents have extra pogi points! i.e. James Mcavoy, Gerard Butler, Ben Barnes, Antonio Banderas etc... Drool! Lol winnerrrrr! *high five*
hehehe. This is what I wrote in the page where it is being sold
An author having a conversation with his fictional character, or losing control of his character, mind numbing points leading one twists and turns spinning the mind of the reader with hallucinogenic colors, concepts, and eurekas. The short stories begin simplified, and walks together with the author as he takes a personal journey deep within the universe of his own consciousness, dwelling, prodding, dissecting, and creating... This book is a play on different writing styles uniquely conjured by the writer from random inspiration and experimentation with poetry as prior experience. This is a chronological anthology spanning the imagination and sanity of the writer. This book is a collection of humour, satire, and philosophy, with the most unique writing style and twists. This books evolves as one reads, from basic and simple stories of humor, to deeper and more profound satire best savored twice.
Now, on a more personal "Good reads buddies" only level:
- I have been writing poetry for a good 8 years before I got bored of poetry, and then shifted to essay, for which I am actively writing (as a hobby) and have them submitted to National Free Press and Augusta Free Press
- I have decided to take poetic play, imbibing philosophy, my internal insanity, and being blunt and disturbing to the masses, while being a thought provoking wine comrade to close friends.
These short stories has a strong sense of Haruki Murakami style off tangent story and snapshots, sprinkled with Douglas Adams humor, and a little darkness (or too much of) from Pallahniuk.
The main reason I am willing to have 10 book reviewers is I want to gain inputs from proper readers and enjoy what you enjoy. And of course, 10 people in Good reads who like my book are 10 positive reviews :)
10 people who dislike my books are 10 negative reviews too! hehehe
Don't worry Haresh my negative reviews have the opposite effect, it makes the reader read the book rather than don't read it.
Hi Haresh! you have mentioned 3 important men in my life, Douglas Adams, Haruki Murakami and Chuck Palahniuk. You certainly caught my attention. Would love to read you soon and yes, would love to see you in our meet-ups!

I'm treating the waiting period as "half glass full" malapit na! LOL ^_^ ahhaha but yeah, geessh, i hate it when i have to wait for books! Especially ones that I want to read ASAP! :D I hope it'll be worth the wait...though i can't handle anymore problems between lovers..i want a happy solid union..i'm so tired of the "romeo-juliet-us-against-the-world syndrome" LOL
Anyway, I'm glad at least I got to read Bloody Valentine by Melissa de La Cruz already...though it's bittersweet coz it just made me want to get to the next book more!!! Do you read blue blood series? ^_^
I will choose lord of the rings over Harry Potter but only if it means that it's either choose one or go blind and can no longer read forever hahahah ^_^ but i don't like the HP movies..really, they suck!
Hullo there Haresh!Welcome to the Filipino Group! And wow, you're a writer!
Well, I'm thrilled to see you in one of our future Meet Ups.
My warm regards and happy reading! ^_^
@Joyzi - one of my initial plans for a book trailer went like this. This January, you will see a book what most critics call a "terrible idea put together." and "If I wanted to give myself a migraine by banging my head on the wall for reading something so terrible, I would get this book" Evolution of Insanity, now available in your online bookstore for an outrageous price.
But I was talked out of it...
@Emir - thanks :)
@Maureen - the book is available at lulu.com, but I am more than happy to give 10 guys in the Filipino group a free ebook for review :)
@Rollie - Thanks :)
@Ranee - I will be one of the poets for Powerbook's annual poetry night on February 12 at 6pm. Details on their FB page :) I would definitely love to sit down with you all during the event and talk further about my book
@jzhunagev - Definitely love to meet up with you all :)
Hope to find you guys during poetry nights :)
For those who want a copy of the ebook, do send me a message :) I will email you a copy to better see my writing. It also comes with its own corresponding disclaimer :) hehehehe
Maureen Monlore wrote: "@Bookrazy-Koi I wish I could have the same positive thinking as you have. ;) I simply can not wait any longer. LOL. I have very little patience when it comes to books I'm eager to get my hands on..."
i don't like the movie probably coz i have read the book a gazillion times and there is a fixed scene in my brain hehee i liked 1 and 2 movies but the rest.. I will rather read. Annnnd the LOTR movie was able to do a good rendition of the book so i don't know why h.p. Disappointed me so much.. I actually slept in the latest movie lol
i guess you could say that the journey is great than the ending but sometimes the journey is stretched so wide that it grows thin and redundant hehe i guess i'm just a sucker for a quick happily ever after now let's go kick some ass type hehehe
dark? Almost banned? Hmmm i read claiming of sleeping beauty wherein i wanted to vomit halfway through... That was some dark evil stuff! But i finished it anyway hahaha anne rice is my hero! Lol any books you might recommend? I am currently reading i am no. 4 tho :D
@maureen: however the guys w/ accent is always good compensation for sitting through the h.p. Movie! Hahaha i especially like the twins and seamus finnigan's irish accent... :)
Hi everyone, I'm Angus from Makati City. I am not really into classifying books, but here are my Top Five Books from the top of my head: The Road by Cormac McCarthy, Lord of the Flies by William Golding, Death at Intervals by Jose Saramago, Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro, and The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter by Carson McCullers.I am currently reading Possession by A. S. Byatt. I'm a little bored with it.
Other recent reads are One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel Garcia Marquez, The Sea by John Banville, The Sheltering Sky by Paul Bowles, Gilead by Marilynne Robinson, and The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao by Junot Diaz.
I plan to read the following books this year: Gone with the Wind by Margaret Mitchell, The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand, The Inheritance of Loss by Kiran Desai, Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy, and The Collected Stories of Katherine Anne Porter.
I guess I talk too much? :)

Well, those are also the books that I consider my all time favorites! :)
Have a splendid time here! ^_^
Hi I'm Nina from Valenzuela. I'm actually a psych nurse but in my free time I read and blog about books. You can visit my blog here: http://buoyreading.blogspot.comI have an eclectic taste in books, I don't have a favorite genre and just read whatever interests me. My favorite authors include Leo Tolstoy, David Levithan, Alice Kuipers, John Grisham, James Patterson, Lisa Genova, Cynthia Kadohata, Rebecca Stead, and Arlene J. Chai.
It's embarrassing but I admit I haven't read that much Filipino books yet. I have read almost all of Bob Ong's books (except the newest one, it's horror and I'm not much into that), some Nick Joaquin books, Angelica's Daughters (I think Kwesi commented on the review I posted here), and then a few others but not much else so I'm really looking forward to exploring more contemporary Pinoy books.
That's it! I hope I can make some friends here and we can share books and stuff :D

I love your blog! ARGH is so cute I wanna snuggle him... but I might end up being strangled. Argh!
Nyahaha! :D
Thank you, Haresh! I had to work obsessively on it for weeks before it could look presentable enough. I'm happy with how it is now, though. :D

OH, noT yet...but hey, i'll check it out. I'm always open for anything new to read ^_^
Claiming of Sleeping Beauty --well, your sisters are right to tell you not to read them yet...you really need to be mature and have a strong stomach hahaha
I think Ginny was cast okay in HP..I like Ron also coz Rupert fits the vision I have of RON... I didn't like it one bit when they changed the actor for dumbledore..lol..well, the original one died so what else is there to do right? LOL
Maureen Monlore wrote: "I love most of Anne Rice's works too! But I have not read Claiming Sleeping Beauty yet... I think I need to mature more before I would be able to handle the said trilogy. My sisters won't let me read them yet. :( How unfair is it that they have already enjoyed the books and they forbid me to do the same?!"I think they're just doing their job as your older sisters. :)

GRAPHIC is much too kind a word...LOL
19 is okay naman to read such a "twisted" novel... it's like reading romantic novels like McNaught or Garwood which have graphic "romance scenes" ..only with claiming of sleeping beauty..you take out the ROMANCE and cram in more you know what..and without boundaries tlaga LOL so it's like --READ AT YOUR OWN RISK... it even comes to a point wherein its SICKENING..but as always, Anne Rice is such a good writer...so you plow through it and mind your tummy na lang

it's not that it has tons of shagging...but it's the way shagging (and then some) are done and portrayed..how it is one of the main "themes" LOL

no problem! :D
