Manga fan (Death Note, Gantz, RK, etc); started reading CS Lewis's non-fiction after hearing good feedback from the Narnia A to Z podcast; other than that I tend to read books of movies that I like (I guess that's usually better than reading the book first before watching the movie)

I like the movie too (Matsuyama's performance was just stellar) but the anime/manga is just superior :-)

My political and religious belief? I think it's given.

Novels like The House of the Spirits, Of Love and Shadows, Eva Luna (Isabel Allende), State of War (Ninotchka Rosca), Family (Pa Chin), This Earth of Mankind (Pramoedya Ananta Toer), In the Fog of Season's End (Alex La Guma), etc... those were my novels: anti-fascist, revolutionary, historical, post-colonial.

Before I die, which is inevitable, I'd like to see Latin American countries specifically Chile and Mexico. Ewan ko ba, what I know, I like Latin American writers like Gabriel Garcia Marquez (One Hundred Years of Solitude and Love in the Time of Cholera), Laura Esquivel (Like Water for Chocolate and The Law of Love), and Isabel Allende (abovementioned books plus Daughter of Fortune, Portrait in Sepia, and Ines of My Soul).

Still, it is PHILIPPINE LITERATURE! ^_^
