[General] Introduce Yourself!
Hi guys. My name is Joanna Bidon. Some basic information you want to know about moi: I am 16 years old, a 4th year highschool student. I am from Cebu. That's pretty much it.
I am an avid reader since I was 10 years old. By then, I was in a constant motion of reading. Books are my most priced possession. I would be nothing without them. Like seriously, it's pretty much my only hobby aside from watching YouTube videos.
I like to read young adult contemporary, classics, christian, adventure, romance and the like. My favorite book is The Fault Our Stars by John Green. Although, I wasn't entirely impressed by the movie. I thought it was a bit schlocky in some parts. My favorite classic book, as of now, is Wuthering Heights by Jane Bronte. I am looking forward to reading Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. Probably thinking that it would be my next favorite classic book. I am also into books that are nonfiction, mostly Christian autobiographies and theology. I just finished reading Just One Day by Gayle Forman. Everything in this book is breathtaking.
My favorite authors include John Green, Gayle Forman, Rick Riordan and Neil Gaiman.
I hope I get to meet fellow bibliophiles! ☺

Yes. Haha. He ripped my heart to pieces and torturedly let myself bask in my sorrow after I read all of his emotion-filled books. And that is why I or all of us love him. Genius man.
Hi there, I'm a New Zealander who has lived here in The Philippines for the past four years. Since coming here I have discovered my true passion in life - writing. I've just finished my first novel - "The Second Coming", which is set here in PI. I am trying to get it published through a Spanish publishing house called Pentian. Check it out here.

I love writing, but when I'm not writing, I'm reading. Books are my life now. Love to get to know you all.

Hello! I'm Oliv. I used to think that reading is such a lonely preoccupation since I don't have anyone to share my interest until I discovered online reading groups and other book-related sites. I like the thrill of hunting good books at bargain prices but now I hardly have time to visit bookstores since I have my firstborn to take care of. :) I'm not complaining though and I think this situation actually helped me savor reading more.
I can spend hours in the Booksale shops here in the Manila malls. There's always a bargain to be had if you look hard enough and are prepared to move other books out of the way and get to the bottom of the pile. There is plenty of reading to be had online which can help if you are stuck at home with a little one.
I'm brand new (as in I joined yesterday). I was born and raised in Manila and now live in the U.S. I was so pleased to see this group. Just want to say hi!
Hi! I'm Janessa from QC. I just started reading again after highschool, mga 5 year gap din po yun. Haha busy na kasi nung college, di makahanap ng time eh. Ay!!! Nakatapos pala ko ng 2 books nung college, pero iba yung feeling eh, masarap pa din po kasi yung book after book nakakabasa ka.Mahilig po ako sa mga books na historical or science fiction, puzzling books, mga medyo medical fiction din, books based on a true-to-life character/event, romance, thriller, saka books about solitude. Haha!
Hahaha!
So yun po! Hoping to be friends with everyone! Book buddies! :D
Danielle wrote: "oh and how can I forget?!I love anime and Japanese dramas. These two help keep me sane from the pressures of college life."Waaaah! Same here, I love them too. I just finished college but I think I'll still be watching bunch of them in the future. In fact I'm watching an anime now. Hahaha. Btw, I'm also new here. Hajimemashite! :)

Ako din! Mas bumibili ako ng used book basta in good condition pa kesa sa bago, mahal eh T.T, wala pa din naman akong source of income, kakatapos lang ng student life ko eh. Haha! Nice to meet you. Bago lang din po ko dito as in kahapon lang. :)

Ranee wrote: "Janessa! Hi there fellow sniffer!"Ravenchild wrote: "Janessa, hi. Nothing weird about smelling books, i have some which i smell as much as read;)"
Hello! Yey~ good thing I'm not the only one. Nice to meet you both! :D
Hi everyone!I'm Liz. I am a physical therapist and a panadera wannabe.
I started reading at an early age. Reading is my favorite form of escape, and my way to relax after a tiring day of work. I enjoy different genres; fantasy, sci-fi, suspense, thrillers, romance, and young adults. Right now, I'm reading The Last Town, the last book in Wayward Pines Trilogy by Blake Crouch. I'm into Lunar Chronicles as well.
After having an e-reader, I stopped buying actual books but now, I started buying the actual books again kasi iba pa rin yung naaamoy yung papel saka yung feel ng actual flipping ng mga pahina.
Yun lang, sana I will be able to make new friends here. :D
Hi everyone,Myrtle here also known as Ayanami F.
I've been reading since... I don't know. I can't remember a time when I haven't read anything. I mostly read books from the YA category nowadays, although I do read from middle-grade to adult.
In addition, I read manga (I recommend Basara by Yumi Tamura), watch TV series (just finished Su Baekhyang) and hunting for book bargains.
I'm also a certified chocoholic.

Hi Lizzie, usually last Saturday of the month ang book discussions. Sometimes third Saturday. Sometimes, still, may special occasions. Like this month, ang book discussion ay kasabay ng Reader Conference. I'm pretty sure there was an announcement about this? If not, let's demand to have a thread about it.Location ay usually mga restaurants, then HOHOLS naman sa nearby restaurants or coffee shops or book stores or sinehan or convenience stores or sa random benches or plant boxes.
thank you Angus.. sana maka-join ako sa inyo minsan. nakakatuwa lang na may active na group like this, and eto din kasi yung first time ko na mag join sa ganito. thanks! :)

Hi everyone, I'm Victoria! :) 20 years old, a 4th year student in San Beda College Alabang taking up BA Communication and Media Studies. :) I practically grew up in bookstores because my aunt would leave me there so she can do her groceries without me. So anyway, the first book I've read is Paulo Coelho's The Alchemist when I was 10. Ever since I've read that book, I never stopped reading. I'm a certified Jane Austen fan (who wouldn't because of Pride and Prejudice?) Hi! Victoria! How I wish iniiwan din ako sa bookstores dati ng nanay ko kaso hindi nangyari eh, hahaha!
Janessa wrote: "Hi! Victoria! How I wish iniiwan din ako sa bookstores dati ng nanay ko kaso hindi nangyari eh, hahaha!" Kasi ayaw nya kong isama pag naggu-grocery sya, so instead na ilagay nya daw ako sa playground, magbasa na lang ako sa bookstore. I think it was the best decision she ever made hehe :)
Victoria: Wow, that's a long time ago na pala!Kay: Hindi naman ako kokontra. K used to be my favorite letter. Ngayon, Q, X, at Z na.
