Rebel (rebelmermaid) | 4 comments Hi! Paula Bernasor, 25y.o., originally from Cebu but now based in Makati. I am more into non-fiction books. I just discovered this group today and decided to join. :)

Tina (tinamats) | 2665 comments Hey Paula! Welcome to the group! There are some people here who read a lot of non-fiction, too. :D

We're not reading non-fiction next month, but I hope you can join us for the face to face discussion for October? We'll have the event invite sent pretty soon. :)

Oh hey, Thursday Next! I'd love to read the series pero hirap maghanap ng copies :( All good books are like that I guess. I find myself enjoying British authors (and style) a bit more than the American counterparts. Not that they're Better. Personally, they don't make me want to tear my hair out lol. I'm looking forward to coming across some good deals on the Chaos Walking. It had been recommended to me (which should make it a good read) :)

Some copies can be found in Book Sale, tiyagaan lang maghanap. I have copies na, pero gusto ko sila maging pare-pareho kasi iba ibang editions. :) I hope you can find copies soon! :)

Hi to all newbies!"

Ah towels, towels, and towels. That was a great advice as I've used it last time the Habagat came around. Unfortunately, I haven't gotten into the series as my first exposure was the movie where I lost interest after an hour (mostly coz of the girl bits). Forced romance is not my thing so I'm a little wary of picking up the series. I am, however, on a look out for the Dirk Gently series. Alas, they are again hard to come by. And I am a cheap-skate when it comes to books :(

Any thoughts on Dirk Gently? (Mind that I haven't picked it up... yet. *fingers crossed*)

Actually, sometimes, my mother don't allow me to read especially when there is a test because she said reading books is a distraction for me. But I think my mother will not get angry at me because I joined goodreads because my grades for the first quarter are good.

Hi Melea! Our mothers are soooo alike, haha! She would always make me stop because my grades might be affected, too. But mine gave up trying to stop me long ago. Keep up your good grades and just don't stop reading, okay? Haha. Hope you enjoy! :)

One of my favorites. :) I'm not sure if you'll find it too kiddie though. But even as an adult, it still makes me laugh.

message 7034: by Ranee (new)

Ranee | 1902 comments hi Pau.
Movie was terrible, the only happy thing about it is that you get to see Marvin the robot. If you've read the book (which I wish you would) you would find that whatever forced romance remains a force not to reckon with. hehe.

Dirk Gently is the badass of all detectives. His holistic approach, finding the interconnectedness of things from a mere refrigerator to a murder scene, to an eagle and the Norse gods is very, very exciting and intriguing at the same time. And know what, my copies are bought in NBS sale (years back)
