I'm Bea. Taga-Marikina since BORN!. Author/Group Mod/student/guitarist. I love fictions that are popular around the world especially HARRY POTTER!!! Sobrang obsessed ako dun.As in!. Ayoko Twilight. Pwede pa Hunger Games.
I haven't really read Filipino novels like Noli and Fili but I really want to, only it's too expensive when hardbound. I'm a BIG JKR fan(I'm planning to read 'The Casual Vacancy'), so I'm like, part British in ways.
I love classics. I read Romeo and Juliet, Hamlet, Pride and Prejudice, and Emma.

I'm melanie from Caloocan city. Ngayon ko lang nakita na may group pala ang pinoy dito ;) Uhmmmm..... Like Bea, addict din ako sa Harry Potter, A big fan of Hunger Games and Divergent.. I'm really hooked in dystopian stories. I read The Alchemist and Tuesdays with Morrie and i find it very inspiring. Sobrang naiyak ako sa Tuesdays with Morrie! Ang tagal ko naka-move on sa nobelang yan..
Any book genre eh gusto ko basta ba hindi nakakaboring and new in my taste..
Aside from being a book geek, I'm also a movie addict. I've watched pride and prejudice, jane eyre, sense and sensibility and Wuthering heights but never had a chance to read them.
That's all! :)

Hi newbies!!! enjoy the online discussions, the buddy reads, the audiobooks and when you have time, there is a face-to-face discussion this coming May 19th. :)
Lomel "chunky" wrote: "Hi po ate Maria Ella I just want to ask if the face to face this 19th of May is literal? As in face to face?"yes, yes. There is another thread (i think to be started) on the Jellicoe Road face-to-face discussion. from what i learned, Aaron, the moderator, wanted to have a laser tag game at Eton Centris first and a book discussion thereafter. :)
Parang baliktad ang basa ko. 2:00-6:00 p.m. book discussion. Then after ang laser tag. 7:00 p.m.?Mas tama siguro yon kasi mainit sa Eton Centris.
Beatrish, i like the Twilight Saga. books, not movies. i love HP and THG.Melanie, i'm into dystopian as well. try Patrick Ness and George Orwell. :) i love Tuesdays with Morrie, too.
Welcome, newbies!
^hi Bea, you like the Alchemist, yes? Have you read other books by Paulo Coehlo? The Winner Stands Alone is good. :)
So, based on these introductions (since the first time i made my entry here), it is Beatrish, R.A. / John, Elryxe, and Reianne who can speak the language of love. Hi newbies! Be open with suggestions, with shoutouts, and all our activities. We also have buddy read where you can place your discussions in a specific book you are reading with online friends. Just please be considerate in placing your comments/entries and please-please - NO TROLLING, just so you know.
Enjoy~! :D

Hi, I'm Rachel from somewhere down south in Paranaque. I've been lurking around the forums for a couple of months now (so I suppose I should introduce myself eventually before I start commenting in random places). I turned 25 the other day (it's weird to say 25) and work as a technical writer for an IT department in a certain Bank. I like historical fiction, low fantasy, detective fiction, nautical fiction (sea stories, ships, sailors!), and generally funny stuff. My favorite authors are Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and Patrick O'Brian, but I also like Joe Abercrombie, Alexander Dumas, Daniel Abraham, Sanderson, and a bunch of others listed in my account. I love stuff set in England, especially during and before the Victorian era (all the way to the 1300s and earlier), with a particular fondness for the Napoleonic war, and my favorite fantasy setting is when people don't have technological advances like ours. I wouldn't say that I'm particularly good at history, however; I just like reading about it.
I also really (really!) like parentheses.
^hi rachel, you say Bank, what bank is this? Investment Bank? Local bank? Universal Bank? Me becomes interested. And ahoy ahoy~ you can talk with the Sherlock-guru Jzhunagev for his most favorite book in the moment are those written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and Edgar Allan Poe. :D Enjoy the discussions and the shout-outs dear! Oh, don't forget - we have a face-to-face discussion on May 19th! :D

You should read Wolf Hall! :D
Hi Rachel, welcome to the group! I'm also a technical writer and I also recently spent my 28th birthday. Now, that is weirder!
Hi everyone! I'm Laly. I am Lynai's younger sister. I am new to Goodreads and to this group as well. I'm still building up my library but I love reading Jeffery Deaver and Mary Higgins Clark. :)
