John A magnificent book, by magnificent authors about magnificent subjects. Mr. William Manchester (and Mr. Paul Reid) produce so called "popular history" books that rival, I think exceed the veracity and certainly the communication and dissemination of knowledge aspired to, in the best institutional, academic and formal genre.

Brad Lyerla I truly loved this book. It took so long because Manchester became very ill and Paul Reid finished it after Manchester died. I would not hold that against the authors.

J. Scott Payne It was worth the wait. Incredible portrayal and even better history.

Gilbert michaud 24 years was too much for me . . many things other than that are good too
