Doctordalek | 31 comments I am currently reading Sherlock Holmes and the Army of Doctor Moreau. I know, it's neither a sword nor a laser, but I figure enough of you are League of Extraordinary Gentlemen fans and this new book is very similar. My favorite part of this book, and the League, are cameos made by classic characters from other books in that classic era. I won't spoil any of them, but they are pretty awesome. :)

Could anybody suggest any other books with cool cameos? If the cameo is a surprise, you don't even need to mention who it is. Thanks!

The lead character is PI in Hollywood (most during the 1940's.)
He ended up doing a lot of work for movie studios.

Mike | 41 comments The comic series Fables is a mash up of just about every fairy tale character imaginable set in the modern world. Snow White, Bluebeard, the Big Bad Wolf, etc. Great series if you're into comic books and fairy tales.
