February is Black History month. I thought it would be good to name some influential authors to explore and maybe add to your TBR pile. Please add to the list if you have a favorite.

Phillis Wheatley
Toni Morrison
Maya Angelou
Walter Mosley
W.E.B. DuBois
Booker T. Washington
Richard Wright
Alex Haley
Alice Walker
Frederick Douglass
Langston Hughes
Zora Neale Hurston
Countee Cullen

Gwendolyn Brooks

Just to name a few

Alexandre Dumas (1802-1870), he wrote The Count of Monte Cristo, The Three Musketeers, and The Man in the Iron Mask...just to name a few, he's French..not American but he was still a subperb black author...one of the best writers in general of all time regardless of the color of his skin in my opinion. But considering the time when he was writing that makes him all the more brilliant.
