Noor Adel First of all this SChulyer or whatever her name is character doesn't have the personality i was hoping for. first of all she gives 0% shit to the crap around her, she doesn't know what she's doing, and she's just stupid. She didn't what was doing when she was extending her fangs and all i thought about was "DuuuH! you're having fangs IDIOT!" and jack's sister is just freaky! she loves her brother? that is just too gross! sorry but i didn't read the second book and not planning to read it anyways! and the girl from Texas with the pink room! who wants to have sex with some guy who is only interested in getting in her pants and ohmagud when she cries just cuz he's captured and imprisoned and the way schulyer or whatever her name is just wants to help her without a logical explanation is just confusing! Everyone is just too pretty and too skinny and the fact that vampires don't get fact is just stupid! I hate to say this but i'm gonna: Twilight was much better! I enjoyed reading about Edward glimmering in the sun than reading this load of crap about a sickening love traingle!Stupid Jacob, Sparkling Edward, and always dejected Bella are way better! But that's just my opinion anyone agrees? plz comment!

chinami if you ask me i would say blue bloods is simply plot less. angels who re vamps who get reincarnated. seriously? utterly plain and stupid. then there was all this boring fashion stuff.

Libbie The word I'd use is asinine?

It's on my "did not finish" shelf.

Wren I really wanted to finish it, but I just got so bored!

Wendy I finish the whole series except the last one that's coming out in 2013. The first book Blue Bloods is a plot-less book, but if you read the next several books, you would know, that there's actually something happening other than Mimi acting like a spoiled teen. The last two books are about finding the gates and saving the Coven and stuff, which I think are not really plot-less.
The thing good about this series is how the author writes with smooth and beautiful sentences. I have to admit the romance is quite sweet. I don't quite understand some of the fashion part in the book, and some terms as well.
If you are looking for romance with beautiful writing, then it's the book for you. But if you are looking for advanture, it's not the quite fit for you. Well, just my opinion.

Libbie It wasn't so much that it was plot-less as it was the fashion name-dropping (I was already at my limit on that with JR Ward) and the fact that the plot itself was just too contrived. I can understand trying to go for an original spin to vampire lore...but vamps as fallen angels that were pilgrims at Plymouth (and don't forget Roanoke Island.) I think I hit the *done* button when her mother was the Archangel Gabriel, though. That was when I closed the book and didn't look back.

Yep, I understand that. Silver Bloods, Blue Bloods and Red Bloods. If you look further, the vamps in the book are actually a mix of human, fallen angels and demons... which is a part I don't quite understand either. And the names in their current life, former life and angel life... that really confused me.

Okay so this series is really weak I'll give you that. But you shouldn't complain so much if you didn't finish the book or at least read the second book. You have a right too, but I'm just saying. And yea Mimi liking her brother was weird until I learned that they are reincarnated and supposed to be together. They're not really related( at least not their souls or minds) only their bodies are genetically related. So it's weird but I did like how the author used this as a great tool for the love angle of it all. With Mimi and Jack being related it gave them an obstacle because they couldn't date publicly and it also gave Schuyler a chance to swoop in. This book had a lot of good ideas ( I love the Pilgrim thing) but sometimes good ideas are not used well. That's what happened with this series. AND OMG TWILIGHT IS CRAP (in my personal opinion, but it is entertaining).

Just to clarify - is the reason I'm not allowed to call the contrived plotline asinine because I didn't finish? Is that why your following comment about Twilight being crap isn't skating on the hypocrisy line?

Might have to show a yellow card on that one.

Devin All I have to say is dont judge a book before you finish reading it. Also, I am going to use a term everyone uses on me "If you dont have anything nice to say, dont say it at all". With that said I actully liked this book and thought it was suprisingly creative. I thought it was going to be kind of boring but, it turned out better than I orignally thought. In all, if anything I really enjoyed reading the authors view of the vampire scene.

Libbie Hmm. I thought these were discussion boards, where all manner of opinions, good and bad, could be expressed. Silly me.

Now if I had gone onto a thread with the title "Omg! I love this book!!!" and said I didn't like it, then I'd call my actions unnecessarily antagonistic. But as the thread's title, and the comment by the original poster stated that the poster wasn't a fan...I figured this would be a place to talk about the reasons we didn't like it.

Guess I was wrong?

Not being sarcastic, but what do you mean by yellow card? Sport reference? And I actually read all of the twilight books, I read the first one twice and the second one twice too. Anyway I wasn't trying to be rude, I was just saying that I've been slammed for calling a book crap (or plotless what have you) and so metimes it's better to have actually read the book and be able to state with conviction why you didn't like it. You are in your right to say whatever you think about it. I never said you were not allowed to. Sorry if it came off that way.

=^._.^= I read blue bloods when i was in high school, and at that time i liked it, better than twilight. the whole jack and mimi thing didnt faze me (not since reading flowers in the attic) i mean they explain it, they are meant to be together because their like soalmates they even give an example of what happens when they dont i think its in the next couple of books. what i didnt like is that Schyler is such a weak character, but i guess its cause well while everyone is in the know of stuff even her best friend shes just sloooooooowww at figuring stuff out. but there are pretty scenes in the book, the whole forbidden romance triangle stuff. i didnt pick up the sequel later and now im waiting for the last one. theres a little action later on in the series, i think some characters grow, especially mimi, i found myself reading the books for her :)

It's a soccer thing, yeah. Kind of like a warning for foul play.

I totally hear you about being slammed for not finishing - and yeah, I've had my fair share of that myself. Hell, I've been slammed for less than that. Because it *has* been a while since my attempt, I went back to my kindle to see how far I'd actually gotten and I think I did skim through to the very end, but I didn't retain much of it. That's why I thought I hadn't finished (the Gabriel revelation was where my brain stopped registering it, I think, and that was at about 97% finished.) But I did know even before then that I was more than likely not going to continue reading the series, so it amounts to the same.

Hey - no harm, no foul Different strokes, different folks and variety really is the spice of life. It's all good =)

Good:) I totally see where you're coming from and I appreciate you letting me know about the soccer reference lol. The only thing I know about soccer is that it's called football in England. Which makes more sense but oh well:)

It does make sense. Foot...meet ball. Done! We're big soccer fans, and players, but we also like American football. Gets confusing around here if we keep calling both football :D

Oh nice one;) lol where do u live?if you don't mind me asking of course.

Aphrodite Galatea I was really excited to buy this book. I was thrilled!
But it disappointed me. Ugh...
The reactions and emotions in this book were horrible. I mean, she finds out that she is a vampire, freaks out for about three lines and then she checks out her new fangs and then she tells her best friend (who is a HUMAN) like nothing happened... and he already knows!

Mimi freaks me out a little bit... she is way too attached with her twin brother! Jack is ok...I actually don't have an opinion for him.

The book was a little confusing. I felt it was rushed, it has 300 pages and every chapter has two pages, and overall it wasn't clear.

I heard that the first book is not so good (and I agree!!) but the other books are pretty good. I don't know... this book series has 9 BOOKS!. NINE! I don't know if it's worth it... :/

Martine I enjoyed it and I'm planning on reading the rest of the series. I found it light and fun.
