Debbie's Spurts (D.A.) I'm going to use the acorn pattern image at in this example.

The image:

The coding behind showing the above image:

(img stands for "image"; src for "source"); the url (web address) of image needs to be inside quotes. verbally typing the coding is less-than-sign img spacebar src equal-sign quotes url-of-image quotes slash greater-than-sign

Commonly on goodreads groups and some help screens to show a code they'll put asterisks that you will ignore (don't type) and ^ (carat) that you need to replace with spaces.

Debbie's Spurts (D.A.) If you need help getting the image url (in the previous comment's/message's acorn pattern example from "http" thru "acorns.gif"), try right-clicking in most browsers to get a choice to "copy image url."

On touchscreen devices hold down on image for menu choices. If you are luck "copy image url" shows; if not may have "open in new tab/window" menu choice and need to go to new tab/window to copy image url (when looking at new window/tab hold on the http:... whatever line at top of browser until "Select All" appears and you can choose to copy)

Debbie's Spurts (D.A.) OPTIONAL: If you want to control image size

Showing a resized image and then the coding below when you add optional width="xxx" and/or height="xxx" codes (500 is max size). There is a space between "image-url" and the width code (well, a space always needed before width or height codes).

Note: If you only specify width, auto-adjusts the height; if you only specify height, auto-adjusts the width.
