ABANDONED. Picture book, documenting the building of a house/settlment from a forest?

Hello, I'm looking for the name of a book we used in school when I was in primary school (roughly 13 years ago).

It showed in large pictures a piece of forest slowly going from wild to being taken over by people, the building of a house, the street, and changes over time... I remember the pictures being realistic like photos or computer gen, if it was drawing it was very life-like. I have no idea of the name or cover or how old it already was when we used it in the 90s.
