I got turned onto them in the early 80s listening to a college radio station. I'm pretty sure they even had a video on Mtv in the early days, like 1981 or 1982.

Ed Wagemann (EdWagemann) | 985 comments I know nothing about One Direction, except I think I saw them in a tv commercial with Drew Brees and I've seen their name on the internet from time to time.

There is nothing about them to peak my interest though. The fact that they are popular in the mainstream media has the exact opposite effect in fact. There is not a musical artist that the mainstream media has been correct about since...come to think of it, I cant think of a single example, other than the Beatles, that the mainstream media has ever been correct about.
