Who else loves Karen Robards' historicals?

B.A. Tortuga (batortuga) | 2 comments Kathleen Woodiwiss! The Wolf and the Dove. I read it every year with glee.

Hmmm--can I cheat and say Georgette Heyer? She was technically still publishing in the early 1970's. My grandmother and mother were rabid fans, so I was devouring everything she wrote by the time I was eleven or twelve. (We all just closed our eyes for the antisemitic passages which, fortunately, were few and far between.) She's still one of my favorite authors today.

But apart from Georgette Heyer, I don't think I really fell for the romance genre until I discovered Josh Lanyon--so that would bring us up to the 2000's!

hey, I count Georgette, for sure! My very first was Karen Daily. I think. I was 13, and utterly fascinated by a blow job scene

Lol! Much as I adore Georgette Heyer, there was a sad lack of blow jobs in her books. :(

Oh, man! I mainlined her back when I worked at the public library in New Mexico. I adored her quirky weirdness.
