♥ Rachel♥ (i_got_a_jar_of_dirt) | 2196 comments i think it was a bad idea 2 start it, and yes it should b illegal.

message 3: by Conor (new)

Conor (i got me some bathing apes!) | 270 comments Okay...
Do you think we should make nudity in movies and images illegal?

message 4: by [deleted user] (new)

I don't think it should be illegal. Sure, it's kinda gross, but hey, if you don't like it, don't watch it. We already have a limit so you have to be older than 18, so I don't think it's an issue. I don't see any good reason to get rid of it.

Nudity in the movies should be allowed for sure. It's up to the director/writer... it's like saying you can't paint someone naked, or write about someone who's naked. Everyone's trying to make art, they just have a visual medium.

message 5: by Conor (new)

Conor (i got me some bathing apes!) | 270 comments i personally have no problem with nudity. i perfer it when most ppl wear clothes but it shouldn't really be a big deal because its really the natural state of ppl.

i really dont know about porn thoh. its almost like a drug cuz ppl get addicted and then they need more and more and then finally its not enough to just see stuff anymore, they need to do it. And then they go out and rape and murder people.

message 6: by ♥ Rachel♥ (new)

♥ Rachel♥ (i_got_a_jar_of_dirt) | 2196 comments yeah i don't mind nudity in movies. not xcessively (i wouldn't watch a porn film if i could), but a bit is fine.

message 7: by ♥ Rachel♥ (new)

♥ Rachel♥ (i_got_a_jar_of_dirt) | 2196 comments it's just that...that's the reason a lot of rapes happen.

Eric▲ | 84 comments because it's gross and a sin and... ew

message 10: by ♥ Rachel♥ (new)

♥ Rachel♥ (i_got_a_jar_of_dirt) | 2196 comments it is gross, i don't c how it's a sin, and yes ew.

dean, ppl r like: "oh look, these ppl seem 2 really b enjoying themselves. i think i want 2 do that 2. i'll go rape some1." only more complicated thought process than that obviously.

message 11: by Eric▲ (new)

Eric▲ | 84 comments that's why it's a sin.

message 12: by ♥ Rachel♥ (new)

♥ Rachel♥ (i_got_a_jar_of_dirt) | 2196 comments how would lust b a sin...? or mayb 4 u it is...idt it is in my religion....

message 13: by Eric▲ (new)

Eric▲ | 84 comments i'm a christian...
lust is a form or f coveting, specificaly against the 10 commandments

message 14: by ♥ Rachel♥ (new)

♥ Rachel♥ (i_got_a_jar_of_dirt) | 2196 comments and i'm not.
and true...ok i guess that's against my religion 2 then

message 15: by Eric▲ (new)

Eric▲ | 84 comments see? it's a sin...

message 16: by [deleted user] (new)

I don't think that porn causes rape. That is an unfair leap... show me some data there. I mean, 90% of guys watch porn. It's really not unusual. So shouldn't the rate of rapes be higher?

You say lust is a sin... but it's also something very human. How else would we deal with it if not in the privacy of our own home, by ourselves? Should we just bottle it up inside of ourselves? Wouldn't that lead to more rapes then watching porn?

message 17: by Conor (new)

Conor (i got me some bathing apes!) | 270 comments ok lust is a sin? srsly??? well then i guess we're all going to hell

message 18: by Conor (new)

Conor (i got me some bathing apes!) | 270 comments i gots data.... one sec

message 19: by ♥ Rachel♥ (new)

♥ Rachel♥ (i_got_a_jar_of_dirt) | 2196 comments well like...idk...technically it makes sense...but not really...urgh i'm confused i'll talk 2 my rabbi....

message 20: by Conor (new)

Conor (i got me some bathing apes!) | 270 comments ok i had data... but my stupid computer is blocking it cuz of "mature data"
man what bs
ok look up porn on wikipedia. dont worry it doesn't show anything

message 21: by [deleted user] (new)

I'll do that later... I'm sitting with the laptop by my family, so... lol @ mature data though.

message 22: by ♥ Rachel♥ (new)

♥ Rachel♥ (i_got_a_jar_of_dirt) | 2196 comments lolz conor!!! XD!
and...ok *VERY scared but goes 2 wiki*

message 23: by ♥ Rachel♥ (new)

♥ Rachel♥ (i_got_a_jar_of_dirt) | 2196 comments However, a review of controlled studies has found that extensive, extremely prolonged viewing of the type of pornographic material commonly sold at adult bookstores was positively correlated with leniency in the sentencing of a person convicted of rape in a mock trial setting, decreased satisfaction of participants with their sex lives and partners, and an increased self-reported willingness to commit rape or other forced sexual acts. Likewise, Ariely and Loewenstein conducted a laboratory study that demonstrated an increased willingness of men to engage in "date rape" like behaviors (e.g., slip a woman a drug to increase the chance to have sex with her) while sexually aroused.

that's a quote from wikipedia

message 24: by [deleted user] (new)

Well if you watch porn non-stop through the day and night... maybe there should be a limit on how much porn you can watch over a certain period. But I still don't think it should be illegal.

message 25: by ♥ Rachel♥ (new)

♥ Rachel♥ (i_got_a_jar_of_dirt) | 2196 comments i get how it would, although i don't c how lust is a sin anymore....

message 26: by ♥ Rachel♥ (new)

♥ Rachel♥ (i_got_a_jar_of_dirt) | 2196 comments so there's less rapes

message 27: by [deleted user] (new)

If there's even a correlation...

message 28: by Conor (new)

Conor (i got me some bathing apes!) | 270 comments wow thats really interesting. i guess ppl get their fantasies out through it and so they dont have to act them out

message 29: by Conor (new)

Conor (i got me some bathing apes!) | 270 comments the problem with that data though is that you can take that furthur;
does this mean we should allow child porn to make paedophilia go down?

message 30: by Conor (new)

Conor (i got me some bathing apes!) | 270 comments not really... It's still desire, even if it is messed up.
Btw im not saying we should actually do this, I'm just playng devils advocate

message 31: by [deleted user] (new)

That's a really good article, Dean. That's exactly what I would have guessed.

message 32: by Conor (new)

Conor (i got me some bathing apes!) | 270 comments ok heres a counter thingy.
it doesn't dispute what you said, it just says that ovver time it can really mess ppl up

ok this is about ted bundy, a serial rapist and killer who murdered bewtween 24 and 100 women
if you want the article is at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ted_bundy
The night before Bundy was executed, he gave a television interview to James Dobson, head of the evangelical Christian organization Focus on the Family. During the interview, Bundy made repeated claims as to the pornographic "roots" of his crimes. He stated that, while pornography did not cause him to commit murder, the consumption of violent pornography helped "shape and mold" his violence into "behavior too terrible to describe." He alleged that he felt that violence in the media, "particularly sexualized violence," sent boys "down the road to being Ted Bundys." In the same interview, Bundy stated:

"You are going to kill me, and that will protect society from me. But out there are many, many more people who are addicted to pornography, and you are doing nothing about that."[83:]

message 33: by Conor (new)

Conor (i got me some bathing apes!) | 270 comments so i think that over time it really messes ppl up

maybe there should just be a limit...

message 34: by [deleted user] (new)

So is looking down at yourself in the shower a sin?

message 35: by ♥ Rachel♥ (new)

♥ Rachel♥ (i_got_a_jar_of_dirt) | 2196 comments then i'm going 2 hell.

message 36: by Diana (new)

Diana (higura_natume) | 318 comments if it's being forced (like rape on tape or something) then i can see why not

but if the person on tape and the person taping want to do it, i don't see how we can stop them anyway

message 37: by Brandon (new)

Brandon | 1 comments Porn will never be illegal.
It is one of the biggest industries in the world.
There are laws set up to protect those in it and who can see it.

I can see why some people would have a problem with it, but shouldn't we be more worried about violence instead of sex?

message 38: by [deleted user] (new)

Does lesbian and gay porn also increase rape and objectification?

message 39: by ♥ Rachel♥ (new)

♥ Rachel♥ (i_got_a_jar_of_dirt) | 2196 comments catherine-oh.

tade-idk.

message 40: by ♥ Rachel♥ (new)

♥ Rachel♥ (i_got_a_jar_of_dirt) | 2196 comments erm not necessarily. it's just the desire. i looked it up in the dictionary.

message 41: by [deleted user] (new)

I agree.

message 42: by ♥ Rachel♥ (new)

♥ Rachel♥ (i_got_a_jar_of_dirt) | 2196 comments then how r we supposed 2 reproduce if we didn't want another person?

message 43: by [deleted user] (new)

Yeah I agree with Rachel. If lust and sex are such sins, how are we supposed to have kids haha?

message 44: by [deleted user] (new)

Biblical sins are usually things we enjoy most.

message 45: by Conor (new)

Conor (i got me some bathing apes!) | 270 comments Lol yeah. Humans are meant to feeel desire. It's the reason there's so many of us

Gay porn isn't really different at a base level... It's just people doing sexual stuff
It prob doesn't have fdicferent effects.... Although It can be used for some interesting g rweasearch stuff

message 46: by [deleted user] (new)

It's not really logical, but it makes sense.

message 47: by Diana (new)

Diana (higura_natume) | 318 comments basically

message 48: by ♥ Rachel♥ (new)

♥ Rachel♥ (i_got_a_jar_of_dirt) | 2196 comments sorta confusing, but i guess....

message 49: by ♥ Rachel♥ (new)

♥ Rachel♥ (i_got_a_jar_of_dirt) | 2196 comments like, i get wat u mean, but...urgh.

message 50: by [deleted user] (new)

Since it's a natural, biological urge, I still wouldn't call it a sin though.
