Matt | 819 comments "Do you have any more of that 2%?" *wink, wink*

Thinking about some of the old school parlance, it's also damned funny that the guy's last name is Holding.

message 3: by Kevin (new)

Kevin (ksprink) | 11469 comments ok tadpole, a little more old school:

was his route number 714?

message 4: by RandomAnthony (new)

message 7: by RandomAnthony (new)

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments I wonder if people are looking askance at Lance Armstrong this week...

message 8: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Askance at Lance.

Sorry. My simple mind picks up on these things.

message 9: by Kevin (new)

Kevin (ksprink) | 11469 comments is that a palindrome?

message 10: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) No. A palindrome reads the same backwards and forwards. Like the name Otto. F'r'instance.

message 11: by Kevin (new)

Kevin (ksprink) | 11469 comments thanks larry. sometimes a joke only works in person with a facial expression LOL

message 12: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Yeah it got right by me. Nothin' new there.

message 13: by Matt (new)

Matt | 819 comments You got me Kevin, I don't know what 714 signifies. I could probably google, but it's more fun to ask.

message 14: by Kevin (new)

Kevin (ksprink) | 11469 comments 714 was a 70's slang term for a Quaalude. all the dopers would giggle whenever someone said that number. if you were with stoners and they saw a room number 714 or babe ruth's home record got mentioned or ESPECIALLY twice a day at the time 7:14 (although most of them never saw the A.M. version) they would all go "Whoaaaaaaaaa" and laugh

not sure why i know all of this :)

message 15: by Sally, la reina (new)

Sally (mrsnolte) | 17322 comments Mod
Weird. Do you also know why 4:20 is now associated with pot?

message 16: by Kevin (new)

Kevin (ksprink) | 11469 comments yeah, i do. it has something to do with smoking pot at 4:20 in the morning. that eventually ended up being another covert dope word. the greatful dead used references to it

message 17: by Cosmic Sher (new)

Cosmic Sher (sherart) | 2234 comments I heard that 420 was a code number the police used when they found a suspect in possession of weed. I wonder if that is true or if it's an urban myth.

message 18: by Kevin (new)

Kevin (ksprink) | 11469 comments i think that is a myth.

message 19: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) When Sylvester the Cat say "miss," it comes out "myth." Oh, and he sprays saliva.

message 20: by Kevin (new)

Kevin (ksprink) | 11469 comments that's what happens when i say it too. i don't even dare "sufferin' succotash"

message 21: by Cosmic Sher (new)

Cosmic Sher (sherart) | 2234 comments Ew... spit in the eye, thank you very much.

message 23: by Cosmic Sher (new)

Cosmic Sher (sherart) | 2234 comments LOL Ya know, I always thought it was ironic & a tad bit cruel to label it a Lisp, which is one of the hardest words to say when you don't have a speech impedemememement.

message 24: by Kevin (new)

Kevin (ksprink) | 11469 comments egg-thactly

message 25: by Julie (new)

Julie | 568 comments I live in humboldt county, so on craigslist all the rental places have to specify "No 215" so people won't grow pot.
I am not sure where the number came from.
Do any of you potheads know?

message 26: by Lori (new)

Lori Sheesh, I am a former pothead, but obviously I was far too stoned to ever learn these references. D'oh. Altho I never did ludes.

message 27: by Kevin (new)

Kevin (ksprink) | 11469 comments now i'm a pothead cause i know the lingo LOL. hey, just because i can say logarithmic differentiation that doesn't mean i understand calculus.

message 28: by Cosmic Sher (new)

Cosmic Sher (sherart) | 2234 comments Wow. I can't even say logarithmic differentiation. How 'bout Math is Hard?

message 29: by [deleted user] (new)

Lori, are you sure you didn't learn the references and have just forgotten them?
;-).

message 30: by Julie (new)

Julie | 568 comments I just like calling people potheads. But I pronouce it PO-theads.

And I also have troble saying deferentiation, but that's probably because of all the pot.

message 32: by Julie (new)

Julie | 568 comments Woo-Hoo! I am gaining the approval of my good twin. That was step one of my evil plan.
First approval, then trust...

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8993 comments Uh, Julie, you aren't supposed to tell me your evil plan... or, not until you've got me strapped to something and are about to kill me with lasers or sharks or a sawmill. THEN is when you can do the monologuing.

Sheesh, what do they teach in those evil twin schools these days?

message 34: by Cosmic Sher (new)

Cosmic Sher (sherart) | 2234 comments Dang kids these days, don't know how to do the eee-vil correctly.
