Cole I can't believe it, I mean come on! It's one of my favorite books! You should love it too.

Violet this IS a pretty good book. i just wish it was longer. it doesn't say what happens to Scipio after he gets older, really, other than that he becomes Victor's assistant. he doesn't have any money, doesn't have much experience, nothing except for connections to kids. and to victor.

Zoe I love this book! It is so magical and so well written! i think!

Sonya S I did enjoy this book. It was such a good blend of mysticism and realism. The fact that it focused more on the relationship between the kids rather than the "magic" of it all was what really struck me. The divisions of class (those that had and those that had not) was very well written, especially from a child's point of view. I still like Inkheart better, but perhaps that's because it's targeted at a slightly more mature audience. Nonetheless, it was a wonderful book!

Captain Mason waaaaay awesome!!!

Jordan Bailey It was a beautiful book. I read it quite awhile ago. And it set up my love for old European architecture. Not a normal like for a 6th grader back then. >.>

But I agree with Violet, I wish it would have told us more about what happened afterwards.

Cole IT IS Good, that's what we are trying to say, and it's right

Anna so great that you simply have to read it!!!

Cole Definetly

Amrita I LOVE this book!! Cornelia Funke is a great writer!

Maddie Rivers This is an awesome book. Scipio is an amazing character in the book and movie. I think the mystery aspect of it is a great addition to an already fabulous story. I was kinda mad when we found out that Scip was rich, but still a wonderful tale of deceit, magic, thievery, and friendship. A very worthwhile read.

Avital I've read it as a kid. It was fascinating.

Sophia I liked it but in my opinion inkheart was much better...

Danielle Has any one else seen the movie? I think it was pretty good.

MizziQ I loved it! That's a good movie. I can't attest to the accuracy of the movie and book together because I saw it as a 6 year old...but I really liked it and still do (as a teen now)

Danielle Same here it has been awhile since I have seen the movie. I just remember likeing it. Hmm now I want to see it again. To bad redbox won't have it. :(

MizziQ Yha. I'm gonna go find it. I think it's at the library.

Danielle Your right I bet my libray has it.

MizziQ :) Don't you love those things! :)

Danielle Libraries? Yes I love libraries. Any chance I get I go to the library. I practically grew up in the library. :)

MizziQ Haha! Exactly. :) It's my second home!

Wayward Child It`s awesome. I just hate that he decided to grow up, because it`s completelly against everything I believe in.

Smhmk97 IKR.....sad..but, i gues the author wanted to make it ironic or something, so she put it that way

Nikita Fiji i loved every bit of it...!

Vanessa i love this book!

I liked that scip turned out to be rich. He had legitimate reasons for doing what he did, regardless, and I think it just shows that money doesn't solve all problems :) ... Me shut up about that now. Somebody else said the book was too short... AGREED! :) there could've been so much more! I've never read the inkheart books but I'm looking fwd to them :)

Jenny First of all, I love any book by Cornelia Funke! She is a tremendous writer!

Second, this book was amazing! I also agree it was too short. I love the twists and turns the story took, I had no idea what was going to happen next, which is rare for me!

The Inkheart trilogy is amazing, if you have not read it, get on it! Its a great "book-lovers" series, as most of the story is about books!

02KathrynC I havent read many books by her but i agree I love the book

I love it!!!

Audrey Lee I enjoyed it.

message 37: by Caty (new) - rated it 5 stars

Caty My sister recommended it to me and I loved it
thanks Mary

Kimber I adored this book. After i read the Inkheart series (which is a MUST since the movie didn't do it justice) I picked up anything of Funke's that I could. Most of her other books are for younger readers (The Dragon Rider, Ingraine) but The Thief Lord was an absolute dream!

Melissa Bee I read the book several years ago. I remember being disappointed that he chose to grow up.

Andrea I just picked this book randomly of the library shelf, I started reading it and I couldn't put it down!

Yes, I LOVE the movie, one of my favourites!! :)

There's an English version, too, and it must be originally English because the characters voices match their mouths.
