I have a few guesses: Sherri (Jacob's wife), Marcus, or Jacob. Not sure about any of them, though.
I loved the beginning scene. Cathy was very strong to push through the pain and leave her car knowing that it might start on fire soon. I loved how Will was the one to stop and help her. It was funny how he didn't recognize her at first, but not surprising considering her appearance.
I don't really like Marcus. I don't know what it is about him, but something just didn't feel right from the beginning, and then when he remained neutral at the committee...
Who's your favorite character? Mine is Will. It is so nice how he is helping Cathy and she only has to have dinner with him/go to church as payment. He seems like a great guy. :)
It was really smart of Cathy to remember that she wrote that prescription with a blue ink pen. Too bad the only person to verify that would be the one suing her. I like how Will believed her and that she showed how the prescription could have been altered.

I don't think Marcus is involved. I kinda figured that Sherri would be involved if Jacob was, though.I do too! I liked the way he introduced Will into the story right away like that. Yeah, no surprise that he didn't recognize her right away -- she didn't recognize him either, you know.
At first, I thought I would like Marcus, but I really don't. He just rubs me the wrong way... Yeah, that committee meeting aggravated me!
Um... I think I'm going to have to agree with you & say Will. I like him even better than Cathy. I really like Jane too. :)
Yeah, I figured that out right away. I was thinking "I bet she realizes it's not written with blue ink!" ;D I would have been really frustrated if she hadn't figured that out. :P She is in a pretty tight spot with Mr. Nix being the only one to verify that, though... :/
Do you think more than one person is giving Cathy trouble? I really don't like Dr. Harshman (ironic name...), but I don't really suspect him of anything. Unless he's involved in the rumors.
You're right! I forgot that she didn't recognize Will until after he told the 911 operator his name.
Same here. I had thought I would like Marcus, but I don't. :/
I didn't even think about the blue ink being what she noticed when she looked at the prescription...
Yeah, I don't think Dr. Harshman (it is an ironic name) is involved in Cathy's problems. I also don't think her ex-fiance is involved. There could be multiple people involved... if so, I'd guess Jacob and his wife. I'm really not sure about any of my guesses. LOL! So many people could be guilty...
I really like how Emma wants Cathy to help with her surgery - even with all the rumors surrounding her. That last scene where she asks her to pray was great. I hope everything goes well with her surgery.

Yeah, while I don't like Harshman or the ex-fiance, I just really don't suspect them. Or the other guy at the pharmacy (Lloyd?). I'll be surprised if any of them are guilty.I liked that too! They seem like a great couple. :) I hope everything goes well too.
What about Ella Mae Mercer? The bank v-p... I'm wondering just how right Cathy is about Ella Mae and Cathy's dad. For some reason, I'm just not accepting the obvious conclusion there.
Me too. I don't know what is going on with her, but I don't think she had an affair with Cathy's dad. If anything, I think her dad helped Ella Mae with some problem she had... I guess we'll see. :)
I feel really bad for Cathy about what had happened with her ex-fiance - how he cheated on her. So horrible!
It was great how Cathy took charge when Mr. Nix almost died and didn't wait for Dr. Baker... saved his life.

Looking forward to finding out! :)I was so mad when I read what happened with that! And then with him sending her those pictures & stuff!
Yeah, I know! And I was so glad that Dr. Baker appreciated how she handled that even though it looked like the situation was her fault to begin with. I think he's an okay guy. :)
Same here. I like Dr. Baker and it was so mean of Cathy's ex-fiance to send her that stuff.
I can't think of anything else to discuss about this section... how about you?

So we were right about Cathy's father not having an affair with Ella Mae. It was great how he just forgave her for what she did. I was really surprised that she tried to kill herself.
You know, I wasn't surprised that Sherri was the one behind it all. She was the one I REALLY thought it was.
Cathy's plan to find the person responsible for her troubles was really risky... especially being there all by herself!
I like how Cathy's ex said he was sorry for sending her that stuff in the mail. Made me like him a tad bit more. ;)

Yeah, I just never even thought he might have. I kinda wondered if she might try suicide when she was so determined to get those pills... I'm glad she didn't die, though. And that she started counselling & going to church.I really suspected Sherri, too. I didn't think she was in it by herself, though, so that surprised me.
I didn't really care for Cathy's plan. It was pretty stupid to try something like that. I actually thought she might call Will & have him meet her there, but not tell him exactly why.
I loved that she finally talked with her ex! I ended up not hating him after all... ;)
Some things I really liked were...
I'm glad that Cathy got to deliver Karen's baby, though I wish it didn't have to be an emergency C-section. That would be such a scary situation! Funny how the timing worked out so that her baby had to be delivered while Dr. Harshman was doing Mrs. Gladstone's surgery. I'm glad that both opperations went well. :)
I REALLY liked that Dr. Harshman not only recognize & appreciate Cathy's talent & abilities, but he also was willing to say so.
Same here. It would have been horrible had Ella Mae died. Glad she's on the right track now and doing better. :)
It was a stupid plan. I get annoyed when the hero/heroine in books act really stupid and do things that have such risk.
I like that Cathy was able to deliver Karen's baby, too. It was a scary moment! First having to do the C-section and then realizing she hadn't cut the opening big enough... very nerve wracking!
Dr. Harshman really redeemed himself during that part of the story - I actually think he's not that bad of a guy now.
Remember when someone tried to start Cathy's apartment on fire? That was a surprise. I didn't know what had happened when she blacked out... glad everything turned out all right and nothing too bad happened.
Another thing I found surprising was how Sherri switched some of Cathy's mom pills and that was what had made her crazy... what a shock that was for Cathy.

So sorry it's taken me this long to reply! Our internet went down Mon. night, then we were busy all day Tues.Then... I wrote a long reply & clicked "post" and it told me that there was an error & my post couldn't be saved or something. Gah! Anyway, I'm gonna try this again & hope for the best. ;P
I know what you mean. That really annoys me too!My feelings toward Dr. Harshman & Cathy's ex definitely changed by the end of the book. I was glad for that. :)
I wasn't expecting the apartment fire either! And I thought someone had knocked her out or something so that she would die in the fire. I'm glad that wasn't the case & that they got her out (though I never doubted that someone would rescue her).
Yeah, that would be a pretty big shock. It had crossed my mind at one point that someone could have been messing with her meds... But I couldn't figure who could/would do that, so I kinda forgot about that idea. If you didn't know Sherri's part of the story (which you don't until the end) you really couldn't figure out that she did anything to Cathy's mom, though.
No problem. :)
Me too. It seemed like she got knocked out with the way the scene ended. Yeah, she had to get rescued otherwise that would have been a horrible ending/story.
I'm out of things to discuss... how about you??
