Jev went to his fridge and pulled something out and put it in a pot to heat it.

"You keep blood in your fridge?" Shadow guessed.

Jev shrugged.

"Surely it can't be as good as fresh," she said incredulously.

"Maybe not, but it prevents attention coming to me."

"How do you get it? There would still be death.."

"I save it, as I said I control myself, and travel around when I need it. Then stock up and go easy on it."

Shadow shook her head in disbelief. "I don't eat often, but I always finish my meals," she sat on the bed and picked up something from the floor.

He poured some in a cup and handed it to her. "I have more if you need it."

Shadow dropped the object and kicked it away, taking the cup. After taking a deep breath she sipped. Her fangs hung over the top of her bottom lip, though they were useless in this situation.

Jev stood and watched.

After a moment of trying to get used to the odd shape of feeding from a CUP and not a human, Shadow quickly finished. The red of her eyes had dulled to a faded brick color.

"How are you now?"

"Sated, a bit." Shadow said, trying to cajole her fangs back into her mouth.

"Do you need more?"

"Probably," she admitted.

He nooded and went to heat up more.

While she waited, Shadow prowled the ground.

"What would you like to see tonight?" he asked while stirring.

"See?" Shadow asked, looking up and refraining from pouncing again.

"I thought I was showing you around the town tonight? Unless you want to stay here. Ther's not much to do..."

"Oh, right, well I don't know what there is to see," she said as if it was an obvious fact.

Jev side nodded. "True. I could just show you around?"

Shadow nodded, "Anything you prefer, but we are wasting precious darkness just sitting here."

"You were thirsty?" Jev pointed out.

"Right, I was, wasn't I?" Shadow could be quite absent minded and easily distracted.

"Why are you so distracted? You weren't like this last night." He handed her her second cup.

"Hm? Oh, just because I was focused then."

"Well, why aren't you focused now?"

Jev side nooded again. "True again. Would you like to see the town now, or are you still distracted by your thirst?"

"We can go now," she stood and stretched. Her eyes had slowly faded back to their pale violet.

Jev smiled and took her hand and led her to the door.

The washed out purple gaze searched Jev's face, "Where are we going?"

"I thought you wanted to see the town? We can stay here if you'd prefer."

"I just wanna know where we're headed first is all," she flashed something that resembled a smile but was more fang than grin.

"Well, there's not that much to see; I could show you around the market, where the humans get food? It can be fasinating, watching them shop."

"That's right, they don't drink blood do they?"

"No. They're human." jev shok his head and went out the door, heading towards where the market was.

Jev walked into his house and after Shadow entered, closed the door. He took out the jars and placed them in the fridge, then lay down on his bed, belly up. "I'm sorry. I should have just-"
