Opening Lines

Julia The first line of books is always the key. If you've read the Uglies series by Scott Westerfeld, you are sure to recognize this line: "The early summer sky was the colour of cat vomit". It truly is beautiful, in setting the theme, mood, etc. Check out my word art for it:

What's your favourite opening line?

I love that one too. It's quite simple, but therefore it really highlights Mr Baggins and his average hobbit life. Check out my book review for the Hobbit:

Thanks! I use application "Adobe Illustrator" to create the word art. For certain ones, I will sketch it out roughly on paper to develop a plan. From there, I add the font and any images/decorations, render the text to the desired format, and add a background and colours. View all that I've posted here:
