Penny Ramirez (drgnl80) Here's my review; I wrote it a while back!

This is an interesting alternative look at magic, vampires, witches, and daemons.

Diana is descended from a long line of powerful witches, but she has rejected her magic since she was a child. Although she's an adult, this is as much a coming-of-age story as it is a romance, as Diana learns that she must harness her powers, lest she be controlled by those who wish to have her powers for themselves. Somewhat predictable, and the physics definitely get a little wonky when the time travel starts (as the characters themselves admit), but entertaining. I will look for book 2, which was recently released! The narrator did a good job of bringing all the characters to life, and I was intrigued by the history, descriptiveness, and enough French to make me wish I'd kept up my studies.

My favorite character by far is the Bishop House. :)
