Where do you get your inspiration for writing? Post it here. Who knows? Maybe someone else will find inspiration there, too.

Personally, I get my inspiration from photographs or first sentences. Here's a place I find really inspiring pictures: http://emerald-depths.deviantart.com/.... I have yet to find a good website of starter sentences for stories, though.

A folder I made on my dA where all my story-inspiring pieces go: http://moonbeavers.deviantart.com/fav... (I won't give you my specific ideas using these pictures, THEY ARE MIIIINE)

A photography gallery: http://shutter-shooter.deviantart.com...

Another really great photography gallery with a lot of conceptual pictures that really inspire me: http://kayleighjune.deviantart.com/ga...

If you want to write something with animals/sparkles/fantasy or all, this artist is AMAZING: http://apofiss.deviantart.com/gallery/

Hopefully helpful!

Emily | 168 comments I looked for pictures on google (mostly tumblr) and printed them onto a sheet of paper. Then I numbered them, and put the numbers in a box. When I don't know what to write about, I randomly pick a few numbers and then I make a plot using the pictures that correspond with the numbers. The pictures are pretty things, like butterflies, meadows, chimes, sunset, seashells, fireflies, sparklers, etc..

That's actually a really cool idea, Emily! What kind of things do you type into google?

Emily | 168 comments Like, I go to google images and type in "palm trees tumblr" and some of those are cool. I try to think of objects that have meaning, like dream catchers, rainbows. I find vintage things are inspiring, so like type in vintage and I find something like this: http://data.whicdn.com/images/1780134...

No problem, Destiny! :)
Was she actually on Dr. Phil? Did the episode air on TV?

I found this article http://articles.southbendtribune.com/... and I know that Bonii Dyjasek is my best friend's mom and Krista Mehl is my best friend's sister.

This is about when they were on Dr. Phil: http://www.drphil.com/slideshows/slid.... I know Kaylee, too. She lives with my best friend and Bonii, her mom, so I see Kaylee whenever I go over there.

Gabby | 37 comments I get my inspiration from http://agolam.deviantart.com/ and I listen to Evanescence (I think I spelled that right)

I looked at all the artist you people mentioned and they really helped with my writers block!

Jane | 10 comments I kind of do the same thing as what some of you have said, but I get an idea of a character not a plot. Like, I'll see a picture of a person and suddenly I get a bunch of ideas, random little tings about this person, who they could be, their hobbies, etc. Sometimes random things, and then I get caught up in this character and think, 'I need a story for this person' and then I build the plot around them. Sometimes this isn't the best thing though, because while the character is well thought out and real, the plot lacks something because I just start writing without knowing exactly what the problem is, just thinking that I want to write about this character. On the other hand, I can get great plot ideas out of it and the whole book kind of takes shape from where I want this character to go and what I want to happen to them. Anyway, yeah, I get my inspiration from pictures a lot of the time.

For example, the idea of Laurel, my main character in the Fae Realm Trilogy (see my writing folder and my character's folder to find the story and her character profile), came from this picture; http://www.faerieprints.com/art/Fores.... I also got my inspiration for her love interest when I was searching up pictures of elves and came across a picture of Legolas from Lord of the Rings (yes, I based his appearance off Legolas).
