We've got a mess of branches to pick up in the woods. Some will need the chainsaw, including one big old tree that's completely blocking a path. I'll wait until the ground is firmer, though. Not only do I not want to lug the chainsaws all that way by hand, but there's no sense using them on slippery hills when a week or two will give me better footing.
I do need to get the truck out in the fields soon though. I've got bags of shavings to dump from the bowls I turn. One medium sized bowl can easily fill up a 5 gal bucket with shavings. I've also got to get more hay from the old barn into the new one. In the cold weather with snow on the ground, the horses go through 3 bales a day rather than 1.5 or 2. If we get a freeze tonight, I can do it first light tomorrow.

How was the carnival, Jackie?
It's nice that you're so near the action.

How much does a bale of hay cost?
Amazing about the shavings from one bowl.
One thing I never liked was a messy hobby. Dress-making is my idea of a messy hobby. However, I wish I could afford a private dress-maker. Fit is everything! One time I went to a dress-maker to have her make my costume for our Sweet Adelines chorus. I'll never forget how well that dress fit me. Of course, I was thin then. (g)
Today I'm dreaming of being on a tropical island. ====>
Can you guess who that is in the picture? (g)
