Marina Maddix (marinamaddix) I posted this in the welcome thread, which is obviously the wrong spot. If this is also wrong (I'm new), please move/delete as necessary.

I have a picture-heavy easy reader series in mind. Five shorter books with the same character. He gets lost in the first book via adventure. Each book continues the underlying theme of getting home but the primary plot will be a new adventure. He finally gets home in the last book (via an adventure).

I'm new to children's book writing, so I'm wondering if this 'cliffhanger' style is a bad idea for kids' books. Or is it better suited for older kids? Any thoughts would be welcome!

P.J. LaRue I'd say a cliff hangar is a great idea as long as you have the next book ready to go quickly. I don't think kids will wait a long time before they find new interests. As far as the pictures go, were you going to have them in color or black and white? And were you planning to print the books, as well as epublish?
