Now I've caught up to date .... time to concentrate on yellow, red and indigo! (Orange is for the October Toppler week.)

Janice (jamasc) | 48003 comments You've got the idea, DeeDee. :)

message 8: by jaxnsmom (new)

jaxnsmom | 8271 comments Deedee, looks like you have some August books qualifying for orange.

Every Day Is Mothers Day by Hilary Mantel
Persuasion by Jane Austen Persuasion by Jane Austen Janice might accept one of these versions.
El oro del rey (Alatriste, #4) by Arturo Pérez-Reverte

Looks like you could see if Janice would accept this cover for yellow, since it takes place on an island (Corfu)
This Rough Magic by Mary Stewart

Another cover can be used other than the one you read. Poor Janice has been overwhelmed and thrown in the towel on the question of covers. Just offer her some treats (blueberry anything) and she'll be more amenable. (don't tell her I told you)

You might be over halfway to a rainbow!

message 9: by Janice, Moderator (last edited Sep 21, 2012 07:38AM) (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 48003 comments I think I'll resort to Blueberry Tea (amaretto and tea) to combat my rainbow fatigue. Next year's challenge may be a very simple one... just saying.

I would accept any of those. The cover shown in jaxnsmom's message for El oro del rey looks peach to me, but there are other editions that are more orange so it's okay too.

I read the book with the cover

but I can claim alternate cover:

Yep, I'm looking forward to toppler! It will be my first one. I'm planning to pick up another "orange" next week, (after the green), that way I'll be able to make 3 complete rainbows.

I read 12-18 books per month -- I just have to pick 8 that fit the rainbow -- very doable if I don't wait until December.

I was able to catch up because several of the books I read in July & August fit.
