Eric (cwluc) | 55 comments Say I'm reading book A and it quotes lines from Book B. Do I keep the quote from book A as the author or change it to Book B's author?

Book A (Hold Me Closer, Necromancer)

Book B (Alice in Wonderland)

OH PS, in HMCN they say it's from Alice, it's not like a quote out of the blue in conversation.

Unless the quote also contains text only found in A, why wouldn't in be cited as from B?

Eric (cwluc) | 55 comments Dunno, that's why I'm asking...

Also how do you get people to not keep adding it (I've seen it before, just wondering)

So in this case we would leave it as a Necromancer quote because it doesn't quite match the Alice text?

Shoot them. There are usually multiple copies of this one. My favorite at the moment is this one:

the text is wrong, the attribution is to The Children of the New Forest which is actually by Captain Marryat but is shown here as by Lewis Carroll and it is liked by 874 people.

Eric (cwluc) | 55 comments Why don't you change it? (Not arguing, curious)

Oh, I will, if it hasn't already been. There would not be much point in linking to a daft quote that I'd already fixed. Now, would there?

Eric (cwluc) | 55 comments Yeah, someone doesn't like you, it's still not displaying properly.

No, that is because I haven't touched it yet.

OK, now I've fixed it. And merged them.
