Barbara (bkbsmiles) | 7 comments It was a great review. I am adding it to the books that I hope to read. To tell the truth, I usually read to avoid my own personal diagnosis of ocd(since I was 25 and I am 44 now). But sometimes it is good to read about it and also it seems to manifest in a different way in this book. I read Heather's comments on ocd previously and it reminded me of how I scarcely understood it when I read it in my Psch 101 textbook when I was 18. I thought it was about the hand washing and didn't really understand the anxiety part. Later, I met a woman with ocd, but it was my missionary companion who seemed to have the most compassion for her. Avoidance is still a method of choice for me. Yet, I don't feel lonely by any means and am glad that I work from home.
