Pretty sure I'd have bragging rights to La Atwood except I have never been able to even crack Blind Assassin. :-/

Why not? That actually could be my favorite, though I've not really dug so far into her older work.
Blind Assassin is probably one of her top two or three - definitely pick it up.
Blind Assassin is my favorite. so beautiful! and original. also loved Cat's Eye and The Robber Bride. mixed feelings about Handmaid's Tale.
I am a fan of Atwood, and really enjoyed The Blind Assasin. I think it's original and unique, as Mark said. Surprisingly, my favorite might be her historical novel, Alias Grace, which is multilayered, exquisitely written and just plain good! It does not seem to get as much recognition as her more famous works do.
