I have recently gotten back into reading for fun... I am in grad school.... so I am challenging myself to read

at least 50 books from now until the end of 2008

to do my own Author's challenge.

So since I posted this I have read:

1. Hide and Seek....Fern Michaels

2. The Glass Castle..Jeanette Walls

3. Gods in Alabama...Joshilyn Jackson

4. Long Way Gone; memoir of a boy soldier...Ishmael Beah.... I am almost finished with this one.

What do you think of Long Way Gone Kat? I've heard that it's pretty good. I bought it but I haven't read it yet.

I loved both the Glass Castle and A LOng Way Gone. Ishmael Beale was so compelling in his war story but also his new life (thank god he was able to find a life of love, but so far from his oringinal home, I think everyone should read both of these books about triumph!

A must read, horrible yet mesmerizing about what these poor children wrenched from their families must endure to survive (but not all survive- so sad)
I just love Ishmael's smiling face on the back flap- it gives me hope.

I read A Long Way Gone; I didn't know there was a follow-up. I'll have to try to find that. Thanks!
